I’ve found a Cornelius Stephens in an 1871 census who is recorded to have been born 1813 in Alderton. So perhaps a brother/cousin of the drowned Charles Stephens. The search goes on....

Edit found a baptism of a Cornelius Stephens in Alderton 7th March 1813 parents Micheal and Elizabeth Stephens. So likely cousins.

Thank you very much Daisy.

I wonder if you, or anyone else, would be kind enough to find out if there is a familial connection between Charles Stephens and Cornelius Stephens who is mentioned in my original post?

Hello, This query is in connection with a subject I have posted in the lighter side board previously.

https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=752171.9

Can anyone help with details of the Stephens youth who downed In the Avon, near Bredon, alongside Thomas Wagstaff and Daniel Trap in May 1835?

Thank you

There are no Worcestershire burials for 1835 on FindMyPast for surname Stephens or variants.

Maybe he didn't come from there and was buried back at home.  No monumental inscription either.

Pheno

Thank you Pheno. That is a real mystery. I’ll have to refresh my reading, perhaps his body wasn’t recovered. If he was moved then perhaps to Herefordshire or Gloucestershire perhaps.

Hello thought it would be okay to bump this request:

Could some kind soul with FindMyPast do a look-up for a May 1835 death in Worcestershire for the youth (Forename unknown) Stephens please?

I must apologise, I didn’t see your post above, sorry. It would have saved me sometime, as I’ve just spent time looking for Ann in 91, thankfully I got your last reply before I spent credits for the wrong Anns. Thanks again!

Thanks Forfarian, appreciated the help. Through your advice I tried SP again, and I believe Donald Snr is perhaps deceased as I think I’ve found wife Ann with Children that were there in 71. Now to find Donald’s death cert.

Cheers,
