Lanarkshire / Re: parents of Wright / McCallum married 1856 wishaw

Hi Annie, I did ask and tried to find out from the Greensburg library but they said they didn't have those dates ...thats why they suggested the registrars records ....just hope someone can help.   I see Williams great x2 granddaughter on here maybe someone in the family  may know when John died or Rachel married someone else before she married Adrian, but I'm fairly sure she was a widow after 1905. I have Census for John ,Rachel and family from when they were still in Scotland and other official records...M

Hi Annie...I think it was April 5 0r 6 1905...we don't know for sure bu he had 3 dependant children and that would be the 3 girls as Richard the son  was an adult...

The Rachel you mention in Detroit was married to John Robertson (my grandfathers Uncle) who died inwe believe in a mine at Greensburg,Westmoreland in Pennsylvania. I haven't been able to get his death cert but someone in PA might be able to from the registrar. It would be helpful to find the proof. We believe she came to Detroit, maybe via Ohio and remarried Adrian Van Loo several years her junior. He remarried after she died in 1922.
From earlier Census ' Rachel and John had Richard m twice no family, Annie married Pierce Parsons and remarried Oscar Cronk, known as Anna in later life, Rachel Helen, known as Helen in later years  she married and divorced Nelson Hoffman, Archibald (named after Johns father) died in infancy
Elizabeth Shirley married Keith Littel and rem Edward Wright ..I have the names of most of their family and was in contact with some of the Littel descendants.

Thank you so much Sandra...you have been busy and found obits and marriages etc even photos for my family. I am very grateful to you , especially for the wedding pic of a very tall James Clark and Dorothy. Sadly they divorced but I managed to trace their adopted son Wayne. Unfortunately they couldn't tell me Florences maiden name or anything else about Andrew.  I appreciate the Gillies information too, as you can see my family went to all different countries...US,Canada,South Africa and NZ
Thank you so much once again...oh I might have mentioned once before as I think we have communicated that Sandra is my middle name ....coincidence ! Best wishes and grateful thanks
Marilyn

Thank you for that, I have seen his death record and wondered why she didn't know....I will look up ancestry for the 1953 record as I am not sure if its the same Andrew as his middle name I believe was Arthur and there was a relative in Calgary called Andrew. Thanks again Eileen

Hi Eileen
I think Andrew and she separated around 1956, he died 1861, was she at the same address in 1957 as in 1962? I only know she worked in the Railway hotel or somewhere like that and that she had a son James D Clark . Thanks for your message and Seasons Greetings
