Hi Victoria,

When I look at the 1851 census it shows Mary M McClellan as born in WarrenPoint, Ireland, as well as daughter Margaret (edited) aged 1?

Hi Victoria,

A wheelwright is a also a carpenter, and a sawyer also works with wood... :)

A possible marriage....

2 Nov 1823, St Peter Church Street Liverpool, James Jones, joiner, of Liverpool, married (by banns) Anne Jones, spinster, of the same parish, both signed, witnessed by Robert Johnson and Edward Griffiths.

Also...1851 Pleasant Place Manchester (Manchester...not Liverpool?)
James Jones, 49, joiner, b. Ireland
Mary Jones, 34, wife, b. Ireland
Roseanna Jones, 16, silk weaver, b. Manchester
Catherine Jones, 14, power loom weaver, b. Manchester
James Jones, 11, scholar, b. Manchester
John Jones, 0, b. Manchester (given the ages and gap between James and John it is possible that Mary is James second wife).

Another possibility in 1841, Bean Lane Liverpool...
James Jones, 45, joiner, nbic
Alice Jones, 45, nbic
James Jones, 20, brass Moulder, nbic
Robert Jones, 15, app joiner, bic
William Jones, 15, app joiner, bic

No Mary with them, but there are plenty of options for a Mary Jones born circa 1830 in 1841 census records on her own as either a servant, with a widowed mother or a pupil...

There is a Mary Ann baptised to James (a wheelwright) and Charlotte, 3 Jan 1830 at Horwich.
A Mary baptised to James (a sawyer) and Mary (late Jones) 14 Aug 1829 at Manchester
A Mary baptised to James (a carver & gilder) and Rachel, 2 Oct 1826, at Liverpool
Another Mary Ann baptised to James and Ann, (a labourer though) 19 Jun 1835 at Liverpool
A Mary baptised to James and Jane (another labourer) 25 Dec 1832 Liverpool
A Mary baptised to James and Ellen (another labourer) 10 Jan 1833 Toxeth
A Mary baptised to James and Mary (another labourer) 18 Jul 1830 Liverpool

Is Mary Margaret consistent with her age and place of birth on all census records?

Hi Dianna,

Been out for the day, but Sarah’s baptism clearly reads Hand, (she certainly may have preferred Sarah Ann)  there is also the marriage of William Stockman, bachelor and Catherine Doyle, spinster, both otp, 16 Mar 1834, Tormohan, William signed, Catherine left her mark, witnessed by John Stockman (x) and E Eaton.

Also a baptism at Tormohun of a William Floud Stockman, 10 Apr 1812 (born 24 Mar) s/o Thomas and Ann. (Not sure if this your William?)

A burial of interest...William Stockman, 27, buried 10 Oct 1841, Denbury Devon.

Two baptism possibilities that I can see....
Ann Turner, d/o Joseph & Daly at Writtle, 25 May 1770
Ann Turner, d/o Edward & Ann at Great Waltham, 22 Sept 1771

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / Re: Sibblings of William Green (Lincolnshire)
« on: Saturday 06 March 21 02:06 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Rita,

No help with Williams siblings, and the 1841 census shows William born out of county, he died before the 1851 census, so will be very hard to find.

This appears to be his marriage....
William Green married Ann Marshall, 3 Dec 1814, Boston, Lincs.

The following children were baptised to William Green, labourer and wife Ann....

1815 Francis, Freiston Lincs
1817 Elizabeth, Boston, Lincs
1819 William, Boston, Lincs
1821 Sarah, Boston, Lincs
1822 Eliza, Boston, Lincs
1824, Susan, Freiston, Lincs
1827 Mary Ann, Butterwick (mother noted as Ann - late Marshall)
1830 Harriett, Boston, Lincs (mother noted as above)
1832 Mildred, Fishtoft, Lincs
1834 Sarah Ann, Fishtoft, Lincs

Census - 1841 Fishtoft Lincs
William Green, 60, labourer, not born in county
Ann Green, 50, bic
Eliza Greem, 15, bic
Harriett Green, 10, bic
Mildred Green, 9, bic
Sarah Green, 7, bic

William Green buried 14 May 1847, Fishtoft, age 65

1851 census shows Ann as born 1791 Marshall, d/o Thomas & Elizabeth, baptised 2 Sep 1792, Baumber Lincs.

I can’t see where the “John” is added to Francis’s name? In all census records and his baptism he is listed only as Francis?

It is worth noting that there is a Francis Green, age 34, buried in Freiston in 1834... a possible brother to William?
