James Napier of Greenleys and Haremuir farms, Benholm,  1863.  Although he and wife janet Strachan are buried in kinneff (they also had Harbourshields Kinneff) I am wondering about a generation before so William Napier?  or Ann Napier? (b 1762 Chapel of Barras but again family connections may have taken her to Benholm)  I am also looking for the burial of Elizabeth Strachan b 1800 married to (Alexander) John Smith who lived in Moathill, Benholm,  in 1863.  also an Isobel Artbuthnot/t born 1744 Benholm married  James Strachan and though they lived at West Mathers farm, St Cyrus, may have had family in Benholm and therefore buried there.  I do not know their deaths. I would estimate from 1785 to the early 1800's.  thank you.

Hello, i'm searching for Strachan/napier/Smith families who farmed around Benholm for much of the 1800's.  so there may be burials in the kirkyard.

Please can anyone help me with working out the numbering of the houses down this road in 1901/1911.   In 1911 there seem to be numbers from 1 - 61 and yet on the map there don't appear to be that many houses, just the row of 13 or so cottages on the left down from the junction with Lumley road, which is in fact the houses I am researching.  but I cannot work out from the censuses which are these precise houses.  thank you.

Does anyone know of a passenger list for this ship that left Holland  in 1817 for America but ended up in Bergen Norway ?  It has a fascinating story which is well documented.
