Many thanks for the reply. I do appreciate it.

I will have to order the marriage cert as there are several James Caines who would fit the bill.

On the Census returns, the James who married Elizabeth was born in Bridport but I can't see a baptism for him

I'll keep the details you found as I'm sure I will find him later in my research

Kind regards

Jan

Has anybody got access to Moorlinch marriages?

I'm trying to find a marriage between James Caines and Elizabeth Dillon Hellery Dec qtr 1863

I've found the baptism of their first child in 1865 Moorlinch but am trying to ascertain who James was the son of.

Many thanks in advance

Can anybody tell me why I can't send personal messages?
It refuses to send and then tells me that I've reached maximum PM limit

Thank you

Hello Morten

Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated

The lady in the Office very kindly asked the groundsman to place a marker beside the grave and I went for a visit and was lucky enough to find it.
It wasn't a War Grave as he was buried with his family, so without their help, i wouldn't have found it

Many thanks

Hi Stan

I did a search on Google Books and there is mention of the Keynes/Kaines/Caines families
One reference states

Francis Keynes of West Orchard in Fontmill. Dorset, widow, Will dated Feb 3 1680, proved April 8 1681 by the Executors.
To be buried at Shilling Okeford with my late husband
My son Richard
To my daughter Susannah my three gold rings.

That's the only text that the webpage will allow but the family are all mine and I'd very much like to get the remaining text or any other reference to the family

Many thanks

Somerset / book-abstracts from somersetshire wills

I'm trying to get hold of this book and wondered whether anybody has access to it?

Abstracts of Somersetshire wills, etc:
copied from the manuscript collections of the late Rev. Frederick Brown, Volume 5

I have very early family mentioned in it and would like to get the full report if possible

Many thanks
