I'm trying to find the whereabouts of Mary Louisa Wilkins after 1911
She was born in 1880 in Great Ellingham Norfolk.  Parents Ann Amelia and William Wilkins (a tailor by trade) 1901 she is living in Lewisham as a boarder and is a shop manageress.  1911 she is with her daughter Irene Louise Hayward Wilkins married for 5 years.  I cannot find her after that.  Thanks in advance

That's unusual.  Maybe, non-conformist?

Thanks for this.   If Scholes is indeed the same as Scowes then that narrows it down - just a bit!

Family History Beginners Board / John Rigby birthplace
« on: Friday 11 November 22 18:56 GMT (UK)  »
I'm trying to find the birthplace and parents of John Rigby (c1805-1865).  He married Hannah Law in 1824 in Barnsley, Yorkshire and Census records show his birthplace:
1841 - aged 35 born Yorkshire (with wife Hannah 35 and children Margaret 13,  Sarah 9, James 7 and John 3)
1851 John 47 born 1804 Barnsley, Yorkshire
1861  John 59 born 1802  Scowes Lancashire
It is the 1861 place of birth that differs from the other 2 censuses and I'm not sure why.
Any help to find a record of his birthplace and his parents would be much appreciated.  Thanks

Thank you all for your replies.  Your answers to my question have been very helpful and I certainly have something to work with now.  I do quite like the idea of him possibly being a bit of a wrong'un!
Kind regards

Yes, that's right.  Archibald's son was born 31/3/1900 in Southwark   Archibald senior was born in Newcastle, Durham as 1901 Census shows  His occupation was engineer.  Thanks
