Cambridgeshire Lookup Requests / Census lookup 1851 1871 and 1891
« on: Sunday 09 March 08 18:51 GMT (UK)  »
I would like to find out where Boutle Harding was in the 1851, 1871 and 1891 censuses please.  I have the details for 1841, 1861 and 1881.

The spelling of his name varies from Boutle to Boutell.  He was born 1823 in Reach, Swaffham Prior and as far as I can tell, lived in that area all his life.

Thanks
BH

Sue,  Thanks so much for all your help.

You have confirmed some of the info I already had and added a lot more to it.

I think that I have found 9 children for Charles and Caroline but confirming their birth dates would be great.  They are:

Joseph Henry@1847
Rosa @ 1868
Emily @1872
Elizabeth @1874
Ruth @1877
Fanny @1880
Kate 5 Oct 1882
Charles Herbert @ 1886
Albert Jesse @ 1889

Thanks again
Barbara

Thanks to everyone for all the information.

Sue,

Thanks for your offer to look anything up in the Parish Records.  I wonder if you would be good enough to check on 2 things for me.

Firstly I would like to get hold of the birth certificate for John's son Charles.  I know he was born around 1845, but I cannot tell which of the entries in  Freebmd is for him as there are several possibilities.  If you can find him in the parish records it might confirm which entry is the right one.

Secondly,  I would be interested in the marriage details for John's father and mother, Josiah and, I believe, Susannah.  Any details that will take me further back would be wonderful.

Thanks very much

Barbara

Thanks Tati,

It certainly looks like the right family.  The unknown female could be Sophia.

I was not aware of a Mary though.  Is her surname Tame the same as the others?

Can anyone give me the details for John and Elizabeth Tame from the 1841 census.  They were around 25 years old and probably living in Grove/Wantage.

They had a daughter Sophia in 1841, but I think she may have been born just after the census.

Many thanks

To answer the questions raised below:

Her marriage certificate just says full age and she married John Cramp.  The witnesses were Joseph Marriott and Mary Cramp (John's sister?) They were living in Hereson Road Ramsgate when they married and lived at 1 Princes Road, Ramsgate in 1841 and 1851 censuses.  The 1851 census shows Mary as being born in Margate.

George was a blacksmith.

Thanks for your help.

I am trying to find a George Griggs born around 1790.  I have very few details about him and don't know his wife's name.   He appears on his daughter Mary's marriage certificate in 1840 but I don't know for sure that he was still alive in 1841.

Mary lived in Ramsgate, so I am assuming that her father was from Thanet as  well.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

His occupation was shown as Upholsterer.

His son was John born about 1811 in Ramsgate.

I am trying to find  Stephen Cramp.  He had been living in the St Laurence area of Ramsgate.  I believe he was alive in 1840 from his son's marriage certificate, but have no other details.

Any info would be great.
