Dumfriesshire / Marriage lookup - Smith/Turnbull
« on: Wednesday 16 May 18 15:57 BST (UK)  »
Request any information on the marriage of Adam Aiken Smith and Margaret Agnes Reid Turnbull.   I believe the marriage took place between 1923 and 1927 at  Ecclefecan .    I would really appreciate confirmation of the date and place of marriage together with any other information.
Many thanks, Dave

By the way, if you click on the icon of the small hut below the picture on my post (Mametz Wood) you should be directed to an old family tree called the Welsh Connection.   Please feel free to browse.

Hi rhw19
Welcome to RootsChat and Pembrokeshire.
This was an unexpected, but welcome, update on a very old post.  Thomas Cornock and Dinah Williams I believe had 7 children - Elizabeth, James, Mary, Jane, John, Gwilym and Eleanor Margaret.   Jane Cornock (1889 - 1972) married Thomas John Miles (1887 - 1970) in 1916.   They had 6 children, the oldest David Gwilym Miles was my uncle.
After a few more posts you will be able to receive a personal message which, if you are interested, can contain family information not for general consumption.
Cheers Dave

Try 1901 Census.   With such names, children's names would help to try and narrow down the search.

Google Earth shows Rocklands as a stone built house on the right hand side of Queens Road, past the registry office (Queens Hotel) heading north towards Constitution Hill.

Welcome to RootsChat.
William Roberts seems to be a 'baptism father'. (Tad bedydd) which could possibly be a local term for godfather.   He is not a grandfather nor father in law.   You are correct on the age which in Welsh follows the French (four twenties for 80).  My Welsh is quite limited so I am happy to be corrected.
