Sorry, but am new in researching in the UK.
The National Archives - you are talking about the one in Kew?  Charles's will would be there, correct?

Don't we all want at least one naughty ancestor?   ;D

Thanks for the help

Dumb question - what is a "grade 11 listed building "?

Thanks - that is an interesting name - Mockbegger..

Is that the name of the building?

Dawn

Thanks

P.S  Is it true that this area was famous for pirates? I was wondering that especially since Charles owned at least one ship called the Anna Louisa - supposedly named after one of his daughters....

Thank you so much.  Herbert is my emigrant great great grandfather that came to the US when he was young as a cabin boy in 1869.   I know that the family lost their farm when the sheep got foot rot.

I will have to check out this lead - thanks so much!

Thank you so much for the information.  Looks like that I have some research to do to verify the dates.

Again, thanks again - made my day!

Thank you so much for this information.  It gives me some good leads to work on.  I guess the family tale about Frances helping out the widow brother..  maybe there was a different wife before Margaret...  um,  will have to work on that one.

Again, thanks so much!

Hi,

I am trying to find more information on my great grandfather's brother.   Thomas Beale was born in Kent County, England around 1829.  He supposely married and moved to the Belfast area to work in Customs?   I have his sister, Francis come and help him with children when he became a widow.   His sister married Archibald Morris.

That is all that I know about Thomas.  Any suggestions would be great

Hi,

I am trying to track down my 3 x great grandmother's father. My great grandmother was Mary Ann (Pilcher) Beale.   Her father was listed as Charles Pilcher and his wif, Elizabeth Tompsett.

Mary Ann was supposed born in Rye and that her father owned ships.   I don't know where he was born.  He supposed showed up in Rye when he wa 14 years old.
I have that my great grandmother, his daughter was born arond 1809 in Playden or Rye.

Any suggestion would be great.
