New Zealand Completed Requests / Re: Annie Curme SHEPHERD nee KEET.

Hello for 2024.

Following the holiday break, private contact has been made, and interest expressed in receiving copies of research findings. Giving a new dimension to the research, stretching it out from local history bulletins, to one of family interest.

PS by way of explanation. Shows how ones recollection is not all that accurate. Just looked up the thread referred, to out of renewed interest. The Dargaville undertaker referred to the body as "The lonely dead"  When assigned to him, at their own initial expense, they embalmed it, and had been storing it for over six months, hoping a NOK could be found. But without avail.

Thanks for taking an interest.

I have taken the press reporting at face value.

Some years ago I turned to Rootschat, when a duty undertaker, choose to take charge of a body when there was no known NOK,and went to the press after a lenghty period of ashes storage. Fortunately the Rootschat community was able to provide a resolve.

Makes me a bit of a softy.

Alan.

PS I will forward a link to the "PRESS".

Greetings from down under [NZ]

As you may be of assistance to this news story seeking NOK, I have decided to post here.

Happy new year to you.

No problem. Navigating new, to you, sites are always an issue, but the NZ board supporters are a great bunch, and will offer assistance.

Once you have posted to a thread 3 times, you should be granted access to the PRIVATE MESSAGING on-board system. Therein we can PRIVATELY [just the two parties] share contact details.

See MY MESSAGES, in the top of page banner, or by clicking in the small icon under your user handle, and follow the prompts.

By using this service will enable me, to make personal contact, and forward by post or email a higher resolution copy of that photo, should you choose to have one. I have other research material about those named families, that you may also be interested in, and not know the existence of.

Regards,

Alan.

Merry Christmas.

Home again now, and off to a Christmas service, and hopefully later today will go through my files searching for where I saved the high resolution scan, of the photo to. It's not where I expected to find it, but from the above date, it predates a big computer upgrade, that I have had since.

The copy attached here, was a low resolution copy, so that it would fit in the RootsChat thread.

Welcome to RootsChat. Not home at the moment, but will get back to you when home again and located where I filed that photo.
