« on: Saturday 02 July 05 04:23 BST (UK)  »
I paid for this record on Durham Records Online and wondered if anyone has information on the husband and son of Ann Hayes, that led to a grandson Robert as below.

1871 Census, Durham District
Family Number: 25570.7
Framwellgate (Rural) 1871 Census, Durham Moor Houses
Ann Hays [Hayes], Head, widowed, 72, born Newburn, Northumberland
Robert Meggison, grandson, 18, Coal Miner, born Pelton Fell, Durham
Thanks

You're right.  I did forget until I had the reply.  I do appreciate both replies and all the help I have received along the way researching my family tree.  Perhaps one good point is the suggestion that Boltin may be a transcription error.  From some images that I have seen, that would not be hard to do.  It would seem that this family had some tough times with child deaths.

Didn't think of that.  Boltin is an unusual name.

Thank you very much.  It is interesting that on the 1881, Boltin is 13, and on the 1871 Census, Robert is 3.  Eiither twins or changing around with names.
Thanks again.

England / Alexander Clinton Bone, born England, possibly abt. 1860
« on: Friday 01 July 05 03:45 BST (UK)  »
Looking for this ancestor, who emigrated to Canada and Married Emelie Perrier in 1880s, not sure where. First child born in Ontario, second in Quebec, then moved to Red Deer, Alberta before 1926.
Appreciate any information.  Alexander is also related to Mary Bone who married Francis Wood.  Mary was born in Scotland so perhaps Alexander was as well.

When I was checking this out, there is a note to say that Allenton is also known as Alwinton.  One of those things.
Thanks for the information.
