Edwardian so could well be 1905. She would be 20 which she could well be from the photo.

The lettering is in keeping with the date of the watch and, at that time, I was used as a J so could well be John. I've come across it many times in genealogical research.

Sadly not, Finnisfinder. Records back then only gave the bare essentials - name and date. Occupations weren't recorded until several years later and more information was added as the years went on.

Nooshie is correct in saying that Elizabeth Martin was baptised in St Leonard's, Deal 1703 to James & Mary. The confusing thing is that they baptised another Elizabeth in 1712, suggesting that the first one had died.
The Elizabeth born to William and Alice in 1703 had the surname MASTIN, possible confusion in the spelling but a definite separate surname according to my records.

Yes, WW1 as Ainslie says, due to the Union Jack on the wall. As Jim says this was probably put together in a hurry, not only do the bedclothes not match, neither do the beds.

Helen Thorley was the only recorded witness at St Andrew's church, Deal on 10th June 1935 at the baptism of Hazel Beryl Howis, daughter of William & Alice Howis, Collier of 113, College Road, Deal.
I can find no record of Helen's baptism in records of other churches so it must be assumed that she was baptised in another parish.

Thank you all for our prompt and very helpful replies. I agree with wee Hugh that it was wishful thinking that Casement was connected to the Jephsons of Mallow. There appears to be a lot of research done on the subject with no conclusive outcome.
To date I now have Roger Casement's parents as Capt Roger C and Anne Jephson, daughter of James Jephson of Dublin.
There was a suggestion that there was a connection the Jephsons of Carrick via Lorenzo/Lawrence Jephson - no connection with Mallow as far as I'm aware.

Can anyone help with a possible connection between Roger Casement and the Jephson family of Ireland? In a letter around the turn of he 20th century Casement said he was trying to trace his family. He had an idea that a Lorenzo Jephson was an ancestor but wasn't sure.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
