Just come across these messages about Walter, who was my great uncle.  I can confirm the birth certificate gives a date of the 1st June 1903.

Thanks for typing that out Tony.

Was wondering how I was going to scan the page in without it being too large.

The section in my original post was the last sentence in a three quarter page answer.  The person asking the question wanted to know if there was any way to work out how to narrow things down save having to buy certificates that were not relevant.

Will scan tomorrow when I go to work and try and upload tomorrow evening.

Thanks for all the replies.

I can only see/obtain the PDF at £7.00.

It would have been great to be able to expand the tree for £2.50 per certificate instead of £7.00, as it gets rather expensive.

The Common Room / GRO digital images £2.50
« on: Monday 02 January 23 12:43 GMT (UK)  »
On reading the December 2022 issue of Family Tree magazine came across the following in the answer to someone's query in the questions and answers section.

"To help reduce the cost of buying full certificates the GRO now offer Online View digital images of certain birth and death records for £2.50 amongst other services."

I have been unable to find anything about this on the GRO site.

Has anyone else found or know anything about it?

Sorry not been on but work gets in the way.

Many thanks for all the information given.

Sarah Maria/ Caroline was my great grandmother.  She married as Sarah Maria but as you have found she is otherwise registered as Caroline, Caraline, Carry, Carey, and death certificate is Caroline.

Never found a birth for her, so was living in hope when sent for the birth for Sarah Maria but this then came back as parents Charles Dobinson and Caroline nee Sprickett.  So we are no further forward.

Thanks once again will follow up on the inquest details and other info.

Sorry not got back before internet went down.

The birth certificate for Sarah Maria shows the 18th May 1871 for the registration.

Must confess did not think to look for other siblings on GRO.
