Hi Shirley

Thanks for your reply.  My Skinners did start out in Kent.  John Skinner and Sarah Dadson were married 10 July 1852, East Malling (from marriage certificate).  They were living in East Malling, sub-district of Aylesford in 1861 with daughters Harriet and Ann.

I pick them up again in Surrey, in 1871 when their daughter Louisa was born 21 February in Peckham, Camberwell (from birth certificate).  Their son Samuel (my gt-grandfather) was born 25 March 1879 also in Peckham, Surrey (from birth certificate).

As you can see I have lost track of them for a good decade or so!  Since Peckham, Kent is not too far from Malling, I suspect you are onto something and would love to hear what you can add to the scenario!

Thanks!

I'm looking for Richard Robertson born 1795 Newington, Surrey

In 1861 he is at 89 Grange Road, Bermondsey (St. Mary Magdalene) along with an "assistant"; possibly a place of business  ???

In 1881 he is at 369 Old Kent Road, Camberwell with family members.

If anyone can check either address in 1841 or 1851 for other Robertsons, it would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

Looking for household of James and Ann Ramshire, likely in Hackney.  Ann b. circa 1792; she may be widowed by 1851.

Ramshire seems to be quite an uncommon surname.  If any other occurances are found, they would be appreciated.  Many thanks! :)

Hi Caroline,
Thank you for the look-up.  These are  not the Skinner's I'm looking for, however their absence may actually explain a few things!  Thanks again.
