Are you sure of his fathers birth or I wonder if he was baptised as an adult just before his marriage as was quite often the case

All the best

Hi Ive pent a little time searching the registers for Frome but can find no mention of John & I searched +/- 2 years of 1606 mind you I could have missed him as those records are not the easiest to read

Hi Elizabeth

You got it in one I was trying to se if anyone had info on Harriet Jarvis before I searched the parish registers :).

In answer to your other comment I don't have any relations or ancestors in Somerset & ceased to be a full member of the local society when they started to charge £3 a year to anyone who wanted their journal in hard copy which I voted against at the AGM & felt disgusted that this charge was implemented as its the only society I belong to that does this - I'm not trying to run them down but feel a bit hard done by that they have stopped me helping anyone who uses the research forum.

I'm glad you answered my request on Roots Chat as I didn't want you to think I was ignoring you.

All the very best & good luck with your research

Re What Mazi suggests - it is very possible as its 2 females & 1 male which would be the correct godparents for a female so this deserves some thought - my only doubt is that you don't very often have the parents as godparents as well but its possible that it happened in this case

Hi Elizabeth

Was it by any chance you that I sent quite a few postings (re Harriet Jarvis) to when I replied to a request for help on the Weston-Super-Mare Family History web site?  If so I haven't been able to do that for quite some time now as the society have stopped Associate Members from doing this which I regard as being very mean.

Hi Josey

I only just noticed that you put the full entry on this request & in my hurry took it as just a partial entry - on reading the full entry I must say its thrown me a bit as I've not come across that before & hope that you get this sorted out.

Hi Gang

Ive found him & it turns out the author of the excellent book he was in must have been misinformed as to his name as I found him as Charles Heeks Roadman Little Comberton on the 1911 census & if memory serves me right his age was 64 on the 1911 census

ps he was baptised as Charley s/o Martin/Charlotte Heeks

pps Cathy was the inspiration for me to take a 2nd look at Charles

Hi There

As this normally means when they were received into the parish ie when they moved there from another parish so I wonder if she was baptised there before the family actually lived there hence her baptism being before the date she was received - I wonder if she was the first child & as was the norm the mother went home to have the baby to be close to her mother who had been through it all before her.

Hi Alison

Just to thank you so very much for all your messages that I wont go into detail about as this is not a personal message.

I was so pleased to learn the details from the Birth & death certs as this is valuable info for me

All the very best
