Durham / Re: Durham coal miners register
« on: Monday 27 February 06 23:08 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Joxer

I cannot remember seeing any as my ancestors were miners from Staffs to Durham.  I know there is a national mining musuem website and somebody can look up mining deaths from around the country for a small fee/donation.  Cannot remember the site off hand.

Found a free bmd entry and it was Rebecca Ling marrying Henry Blyth Furnish.  Many thanks.  Would you happen to have the 1851 info for Rebecca Ling if that is not too much trouble.

Cheers

Hi bekahsgran

Many thanks for the lookup.  Yet more names to add to the tree.  They do get around and migrate!  This info is much appreciated.  Will try and find if it is Rebecca Ling.

Cheers

Hi Ruth

Your guess was right.  It was the Royal Army Ordanance Corps.  Found his medal on the pro website.  Many thanks!  :D

Hi Nicky

Thanks for that.  This is indeed the one I have been looking for.  It confirms that Bertie is Herbert born Lincoln!

Hi all

Desperately looking for Charles Ling FURNISH in 1891 census probably in Leicester area, he was an Upholsterer.  He is deceased on his sons marriage cert in 1916 and I cannot find him in 1901, or indeed 1881.  His son is Herbert Furnish born about 1888 who is a private AOC in 1916 when he marries.  Any help appreciated.

Thanks
