Hi Paul E

Do not know what happened to my post as Ticker contacted me.  I use netscape 7.2 on win98 and I can read everybody elses post ok and on rootschat.  did not seem to have a problem the first day I joined.  I have broadband modem connected to a router which has a hardware firewall but should not cause a problem.  I'll see if this post is successful!  Seems Ok in preview!

Berkshire / Jubliee Cottage, Sandhurst 1899
« on: Saturday 30 April 05 18:30 BST (UK)  »
Trying to find a map or location of Jubliee Cottage in Sandhurst in 1899 or earlier as relative was a mess waiter at Sandhurst Military College.  Was wondering if the cottage was owned by SMC or private renting etc.  Any help appreciated.  The ancestors were called Nethercliff(E) or Netherclift

Trying to find a Grimstone Cottage at Borrowby in 1881 census where my Pratt ancestors  were farming probably a smallholding.  Any suggestions as to where I can find any maps with it on as have drawn a blank so far.

Hi all

I joined GR a year last  oct after a recommendation from some cousin contact, but did nothing as  too busy  searching ancestors.  Rejoine last oct 04 and within 3 days had 3 thrid cousins, contacts  thick and fast until Christmas and then has been steady since then,  but still contacts in some way once a week to a fortnight.  Well worth the     Upload your gedcom and wait for the action :D
bye for now ancestor calling!

Hi Stella

Re you parish records, normally the vicar would have copy in his book which is deposited in the archives, once a year the vicar had to send a copy to the bishop, called the Bishops Transcripts. Sometimes what happens is the parish records are incomplete but the Bishop Transcipts are also incomplete but the missing years are different so hopefully one or the other may have your missing years, try (the mormon database) as they have put everything online that they microfilm from the archives.
Hope that helps
