I use FTM v10 but do not use the automatic web search anymore as I have 12,000 people in the database and it takes far too long.  I try various surname search engines at world connect or rootsweb or simply type surname and village into google, or Genes Reunited.

Many thanks Tati, I believe it is the same person as he moved to Middllesborough for 1881 and 1891 census. This fills another gap in my direct ancestor history.

Could SKS look up a William PRATT (b1845 Sandhutton, Thirsk) married to Ann (b1848 Easingwold) in the Thirsk area, probably with one child, may have occupation possibly railway truck inspector (as in 1881).  Many thanks. Can do a lookup in Staffs or Co Durham in exchange.
