Durham / Rodger Ibbetson's marriage
« on: Saturday 31 July 10 17:59 BST (UK)  »
I'm helping a friend with her family research but we've come to a dead end with her great grandparents marriage as he is listed on BMD as married December 1862 Darlington but unfortunately there are 3  bridegrooms and only 2 brides on the page, the missing one is Ann who married Rodger.
I can't turn her up by a search of all the Anns married  then. The only Ann unaccounted for was Ann Rudd married December 1862 at Stockton.Yet it's listed amongst the Dalington ones on a different page.
Is the only way to find her name by sending for the marriage certificate ?
She is listed on the census returns as born Ricknall, County Durham.
Any advice would be much appreciated thank you.

World War Two / Army records

Can anyone tell me please if/where I can get my late father's army records ? He was from County Durham in England.  I have hardly any information, only that he was at a training camp in Cumbria, England, in 1939 and was stationed in Essex,England  in 1946. In between those dates he was in India at one time. That's all I have to go on,not much I know.
Thanks

Webby, you are a star ! Don't go to a lot of trouble for Henry's marriage as we do have the date etc, but if you come across it, it would be great to know who witnessed it.
Thank you so much.

Hi again Webby, if you are still  going to the library on Thursday I'd be really grateful if you could look up this marriage for me.
Thank you very much

Hi Webby, yes that's our Henry Lodge, he did marry twice !
It sounds as if it could be our William Lodge too,he was an agricultural labourer. I'll email the Archives Office today and let you know if I hear back by next Thursday, if that is OK.
I really am very grateful for your help, thank you.
