Staffordshire / Prison Records - St. Mary & St. Chad
« on: Monday 23 May 05 18:08 BST (UK)  »
I was wondering if anyone has any information on trying to obtain information on prison records.

I am looking for information on Thomas Ganley who is a prisoner in 1891 at St. Mary & St. Chad's.  He is listed as a gunsmith.

I am interested in finding out what this fellow was in prison for.  Any ideas?

Thanks
Karen

Does anyone have access to old directories such as Kelly's?

Is so, I am looking for Ernest Arnold who was a pianoforte repair.

Thanks,
Karen

I think that is a great chance that's my Ernest Brindley Arnold.  I will have to order his marriage certificate.  When I checked the FREEBMD and saw who else is listed on the page, there was a Maud Emily Stewart.  Then going back to the 1901 census and looking up Maud, she is a Music Hall Performer, and since Ernest fixed piano's perhaps that is how the met?  Never Know.

Thanks again,
Karen

Kerry / Heffernan Family

Trying to locate any information on Heffernan's.  They may be from the Kerry area.  Apparently there were 5 brothers, 2 came to Canada, 2 went to Austrailia and 1 to the USA.  My connection, John Heffernan, married a Mary McGinn and left Ireland between 1830-1840.

They are RC is that helps at all.

Thanks

Thanks for replying.

I'm hopeful that with perserverance, I will someday make a connection.  You never know who may read the message and know something, it's always worth a try.

Thanks again,

In 1901 Louisa was 41 years old and a widow by this time.  Her son, Ernest B. Arnold is 19 and her daughter Violet Arnold is 6.   She was born in Chertsey.

Yes, I have her in all available census.  I am wanting to find out where her and her children went to, and when she died.  Who her children married.

Hi Debbie,

Rec'd them no problem.  Thanks very much.  Were they from the 1851 Census?  It seems possible that the one John Dyer could be mine, since it lists he had a daughter with the name Louisa, and I know MaryAnn had a daughter Louisa as well.

Thanks

HI Debbie,

If you could provide me with the rest of the details, that would be wonderful.
