This seems to be the son, William, who is on the 1911 census.   Did your George have the middle name Ferdinand?

Not an exact match, but there's this baptism at St.Mary, Stepney

David Ebenezer batised 16/12/1850   born 1/10/1847

Father: David Morgan Morriss - a mariner
Mother: Martha Morgan Morriss

I thought maybe the mother was either Morgan or Morris, but not so.

Marriage at Limehouse - 1846

David Morgan Morris and Martha Newell

I believe less than half the prisoners sentenced to death, in the early 19th century, actually received the death penalty.

A great many of them were transported to Australia instead.

Kent Lookup Requests / Re: Erith Parish Records - Baptism - BEADLE
« on: Thursday 06 October 11 16:27 BST (UK)  »
I drove all the way to Maidstone yesterday, but, despite them having told me over the phone that they had the records I wanted to see, they didn't have any of them!

So today I went to Bexleyheath, and found out that the Erith records from 1753 to 1801 were all destroyed in a fire.   They had a few rescued bits from 1801 - 1813.

These are the baptism records I found for St.John's Church, Erith:

Name  -  date of baptism  -  parent's names (sometimes only the father's name was there)  (No addresses or occupations given.)

Sarah Beadle  -  22/3/1801  - George

Charles Beadle  -  1/11/1801  -  John

Samuel Beadle  -  2/10/1803  -  John

Thomas Beadle  -  30/12/1804  -  George and Sarah

Elizabeth Ann Beadle  -  1/10/1809  -  John and Elizabeth

John James Read Beadle  -  22/8/1811  -  John and Elizabeth

James Beadle  -  24/11/1811  -  Joseph and Jane

Hi,

You message has just caught my eye as I'm going to Maidstone Archives today. (Not much time to answer, I know).  A lot of the Erith records were lost in a fire in the 19th century.   I believe (not certain) that there's nothing left from about 1750 - 1801.

Have you been able to tie in any of the other Beadles of Erith as being Jane's siblings?   I'll have a look for Sarah.
