Canada Lookup Request / Re: Frank Walker

I also am not 100% on the date of Franks immigration. He signed his papers to go off to WW1 on the 14th November 1914 from Canada, so immigration in around 1909 to Canada is highly likely.

I'm searching for Frank through the Montreal City Directory post 1919 after his return from war but cannot see him.

Thanks Sandra, yes I think this is the clue that ties it all together.

Congregation Street shows up in Franks WW1 discharge papers as well although the number is different. It makes sense they would all locate in the same area doesn't it?

I've done some further investigations this evening but have been unable to verify this John is the brother of Frank, he definitely had one though and the date of birth 1889 would match.

Hi All,

Thanks all so much for this information, it is so helpful.
Sorry for the late reply, my family research is all part time at the moment and I get back to it when I can.  :)

You have definitely found information that matches my current findings. And thanks for the heads up about John, I agree this may well be his brother.

Thanks

The dates and name certainly line up perfectly!

Can I ask how you found this?

Hi there,

I am trying to find out what happened to a family member who emigrated to Canada from Scotland.

Name Frank(Francis) McGregor Teviotdale Walker
Born: 22 July 1893, Dundee, Scotland
Last known marital status: Single

After arriving in Canada he enlisted in the Canadian Over-seas Expeditionary Forces (Nov 16th 1914) to serve in WW1, but was discharge due to illness on October 30th 1916, he returned to Montreal, Canada, and I can find no further detail.

Thanks in advance,

I have done a search on Scotlands People and I can count four John Walkers born in 93, 94, 95 and 96 in Alyth, all to different parents, I have no idea of figuring out which one would be mine!

Hi Angusg,

Sorry can't find a connection at the moment, do you have any details around David Walkers brothers & Sisters or parents?

We might be able to connect at there somewhere...

Thanks
M

Sorry Cambron,

Can i Ask how you managed to find three children? I can only find a record for two born to John and Anne Walker in Meigle/Alyth.

Would I be correct in thinking there is a discrepancy in the spelling of Ann/Anne's name in varying records?

Thanks (in advance)
M
