Hi
I'd go for the Humphrey and Sydwell Bastow.
Sydwell buried Bridford 4.1.1742 Humphrey buried 6.11.1749 at Bridford.
It's here a Richard Bastow married a Amy Tuckett  16.1.1736

Children at Bovey Tracey
Child 1747
Stephen 1749
William 1752
but marriages Amy married Philip Heaward 6.7.1759 wit Richard Bastow
Anne 24.11.1761 married Robert Woodrough wit Richard Bastow

Also Stephen Bastow is the name of Humphrey's father.

What do you think?

Derbyshire / Re: Sealed Will
« on: Friday 12 April 24 10:46 BST (UK)  »
Hi
I thought I'd report back about how things are going.
I've had a reply about my  order and apparently they won't send me a copy because it is sealed.
I'm told I should get in touch with their office in Newcastle.
There is a suggestion I may need to pay a personal visit.

As it was over 50 years ago they may waive the confidentiality bit and send me a copy.
All this seems a lot of hassle as the Australian copy of the Will is sitting on the open shelves at Melbourne.
Any one have any thoughts about it?
What could it be that we aren't allowed to know.

I know Isabel was born 1887 ,travelled out to Adelaide in 1913 to get married and died there in 1960.
How come she still had £800 left in England and what was it that had to be hidden at the time.
Her parents died 1919 and 1922 and there was some money in their Wills but not the sum mentioned. And surely whatever it was she was hiding must have happen in England before 1913.
Who would care in 1960?
Any advice please

Hi
Christening at Mulbarton
Mary Allen 6.8.1769 d of Robert and Mary Allen .
No sign of an Ellis
Only other possible children I can see for a Robert and Mary Allen
John and Mary twins 16.7.1768 Saxlingham Nethergate

Mary Allens parish in Suffolk -Sileham doesn't seem to have baptisms and burials on line.
I've checked the images of Dickleborough and its l Ellis.

So she could have been a widow but if so strange she married as Mary Allen
Not 2 burials for Thomas and Mary Ruddock so looks like one couple.
