Hi Muss

I am really going to appear like an idiot but I can't find it.
He doesn't appear under Naval Personnel and I can't find where to put the 1920 part.
I'm afraid I'm totally lost.

Hi Jo

Well, it's my belief that Henry Thomas Cole was actually born William Cole and that's the name he used after he left his family and went to Australia. Why he used the name Henry Thomas at his marriage is beyond me.
I'm really trying to confirm that there is no birth/baptism or death record for Henry Thomas Cole.
I was wondering if any descendant of the family knew more.
Plus they might like to know they have relatives in Australia now as William had children here as well.
Thanks

Martha b. 1904, Mary Ann b. 1906, Susan b. 1908, Rachel b. 1910, Robert b. 1911 and James in 1916.

Several of the children died young but Annie and Susan migrated to Australia in 1926.
I know Martha married an Archibald McKee and Mary Ann married a John Copeland.

Would love to know more about the Craig family.

Angus (Forfarshire) / Cameron: John Henry (Jackson) B. Dundee 1900-10

Hello

John Henry aka Jackson Cameron was born sometime between 1900 and 1910 in Dundee.
He listed his father's name as Jackson Cameron.
At some stage before 1925, he moved to Australia and worked in the automotive industry.

There may be some stretching of the truth in his story so I would appreciate any assistance.

Thanks in advance

Australia / William Francis O'Brien at Garden Island 1950/1960s
« on: Friday 15 March 13 05:27 GMT (UK)  »
Hello
Seeking some information on my grandfather, William Francis O'Brien.
He was working at Garden Island in Sydney from around the time of WW2 until 1960 approx.

I have approached the Garden Island Historical Society but they advise they have no record of him ever being there. I know this is not correct as I have photos of him there in his naval uniform and surviving family members remember him being there. Also my mother was his assistant and that is how she met my father. So he was definitely there and goodness knows what they have done with his records.

Maybe someone remembers him or has relatives who do.
Thanks in advance

Seeking descendants of the above or any information, particularly on Mary Ann's side.
She was baptised 10/10/1830 in Stepney.
Father was Henry Thomas Cole, mother Elizabeth (McDonald).
Father abandoned the family in the 1830's - I believe he sailed to Australia
and started a new life.
I have a tiny bit of information on the family in Middlesex but
a lot more on the father's new life.
It's a fascinating story and I'm hoping I have it right.
Thanks
