Northamptonshire / The George Family - Long Buckby
« on: Saturday 31 March 18 19:09 BST (UK)  »
Does anyone have any information on the George Family from Long Buckby around the 1860 to 1880?

My Grandmother's mother was a Alice George born in 1869 in Long Buckby.

Thanks in advance

Hi Heywood, Horace is not related to me but married my Grandmother, so he became my Step Granddad in a word. He was very good to us and he was like family to me. I know he fought in the Second World War, but that's about it. I know he had children from his first marriage and I reckon I have them on the family tree.
Regards

Thanks for that Heywood and KGarrad,
Yes, I know there are a lot of of them during this time and I do believe she is the one born in Staveley and that she did marry Frederick P Firth. Just seeing if I can find anything else that can pin point that she is the right Elsie Wright that had the baby she had in 1917 Horace Wright. I am guessing that he would have been illegitimate as no fathers name on the birth certificate

I am looking for any information on a Elsie Wright she was a domestic servant in
Apperknowle, Unstone in August 1917. I am guessing that she would be around 17 to 20 years old.
She gave birth to baby boy on the 1st July 1917 a Horace Wright and I have his birth certificate, but the father has been omitted from the certificate.
Much appreciated in advance

I am now thinking that Horace was adopted as I can not tie anything to his mum apart from the birth certificate. I would imagine that in 1917 children born out of wedlock were not kept, but find it funny that if that was the case why did Horace keep the same surname as his mum, unless he was kept within the Wright family somehow.

I know Horace married a Martha Parkin in 1940, Chesterfield and a Florence I Broadhead (my nana) in 1964, Dronfield.
I am pretty sure that Horace had two children from his first marriage.
Horace's father's name is not on the birth certificate.

Hi, I have found 3 other Elsie Wright's born abt 1900, from Ilkeston, Hasland and Staveley. I dare not look for more this is getting more confusing by the minute.
Thanks anyway.
