Armagh / ORR's Mullabrack/Armagh
« on: Thursday 24 February 22 22:42 GMT (UK)  »
Hello
I have been on this message board many years ago and thought I will try it again as I am still with my brick wall. I am still looking for parents, birth or anything that pertains to my query. Because of the great fire records were lost, however I have been told I must now try parish records as  some originals will/might be able to be found. Here goes.
I have a William Orr marrying a Mary Toal on the 21st of April 1853 in the parish church of Mullabrack Armagh. He was 37 years old so his birth would be around 1816 (so many years each side). The Orr's lived in and around this area. I also have an 1810 marriage of a William orr marrying a Mary Quin/quinn in the same area. I have been led to believe these maybe my william's parent. On the marriage cert above William's father is also William and is a farmer. His wife Mary's father was Alex Toal a labourer possibly on the Orr farm. I have everything going forward and have spent lots of time trying to find any little scrap going backwards. Please if there is anyone who maybe has access to parish records can I ask for your help.Anything woud be very much appreciated.
I have no siblings for William marrying Mary Toal. Feel free to ask me any question if I have left anything out that might help. Fingers very much crossed.

Armagh / death details
« on: Monday 13 August 18 22:21 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I am looking for anyone with more clues than me please. I have a death registration which is scant and wonder if anyone here can glean more info on the person for me. Following is the info I have.

Reg. details  D/1871/14/1002/3/39
Armagh (pre 1973 Q4Richill

Orr
Mary
female
widowed
14th Nov. 1871
82

Armagh (pre-1973 Q4)

This is an enhanced view of her death which tells me nothing. I was hoping as I have said above someone would be able to find a bit more detailed info. like who her husband might have been, any children still living, anything that I can definitely say she is mine. Her husband was William. If there is somewhere that will tell me her nee name. I have an 1810 marriage detail that says my Mary's nee name was Quinn but I have to be sure that this one is mine. Her husband, William died sometime before her. She was in the griffiths valuation and she was a widow then. If I can be greedy, can I also ask, on the marriage cert of one of their sons it states who the father was and doesnt say he was deceased (1853 marriage) could he still have been deceased. Any info would enable me to find a death for Willam also. Any and all help really greatly appreciated. Thank you

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Thomas Perry
« on: Tuesday 06 February 18 21:33 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,
Can someone find out for me who in 1939 was living in Charnwood, Blackpool C.B. Lancs.
I have been to the FindMyPast website and been into the 1939 register and got this:

Thomas Perry b. 1873. tailor married.....schedule 192  sub number 4

Nellie Pearson b. 1888. Tailoress married.......Sch. 192  sub No 1

This Nellie was the one who was my grt grandfathers mistress  (Thomas). By 1939 Thomas's wife had left him and was in NZ. but they remained married, that was true.
Nellie was not married to any of the men she lived with in between Thomas, so that was a fib.

Were they pretending to be married to each other??

This record states there were two others who were closed records. I suspect it was their two children, Mary and Stanley. Yes I could get the records opened but it is such a rigmaroll so was hoping someone might know where to look and find out for me which of course would be greatly appreciated. The address was 144 Midgeland Rd, Blackpool. I am looking for the full household.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Stanley Perry Chapman- GRO numbers required
« on: Friday 22 December 17 23:45 GMT (UK)  »
 :'(Hi all,
I am trying to get the death details. I have the death registration details which are not good enough for the GRO people. I am looking for a person who maybe able to look quicker than me for the numbers. As I said I have the vol. and page numbers. The registration details are as follows: (from family search)

Stanley Perry Chapman, 1st qrt of 1995, Liverpool Lancs. Under "event place" which I take to mean where he died is Liverpool, Lancs. It says his birth date is 22nd Oct. 1922. His mothers nee name was Woollen. She had several men in her life apart from Stanley's father who was Thomas Perry.  One was a chap called Mr Chapman. As you can see Stanley took both names. I haven't been able to find a birth or marriage for Stanley (I think his wife's name may have been Mary).
Stanley had a sister also named Mary Rose who was born 1929..

All help really much appreciated.

Lancashire / Fernando Burns
« on: Thursday 11 May 17 04:19 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

I have a George Burns born 19th Oct. 1770 St Cuthbert, Kirkby, Ireleth, Lancs. He had two other siblings named Frank and Edward b. 1775 and 1778.

I cannot find anything after 1778 or before on Ferdinando Burns, where he was born or where he came from, marriage or even death. The place never changed until around 1920 for George who went to sea at the age of 13/14.

Ferdinando and Eleanor Burns were his parents. I can find nothing on Ferdinando Burns re a birth, marriage or death. Am I right in thinking he may have come from another country. If I found something with a name of Fardy would that be short for ferdinando. Any and all help very much appreciated. Thank you

Europe / birth details wanted - France after 1838
« on: Thursday 11 May 17 04:02 BST (UK)  »
HELLO,
I am looking for someone who might do a lookup for me of two births in france from 1838. The names of the parents were:

Charles Barnet Burns (or just Barnet Burns)

Anne Melanie Boval

These two people were married I thought in the 7th arrondissement on the 22nd Sept. 1838. They lived at 16 Rue Pastourelle, 3rd Arrondissement. I am led to believe that these two people had two children who died young. I am looking for information on these two children re their births and anything else someone may find.
Any and all help very much appreciated. Thank you

Cumberland / Shipping in Whitehaven Cumberland 1700's
« on: Sunday 01 November 15 21:23 GMT (UK)  »
 :D Hello,
It has been a long while since I was here, however I desperately need help with my "brickwall". For many years I have worked on this to no avail so am hoping I am in the right place asking the right question.
I have a MUNGO PERRY (not shouted) who was a mariner in the 1700's in whitehaven. All I have is a death date of 15th May 1778 in Whitehaven. Mungo (spelt many ways as was his surname) was married to a JANE ? and they had six children between 1733-1747, all born Workington St Micheal. Jane died 2nd April 1781 aged 78 and was described as "widow of Mungo Perry mariner".
I cannot find anything on him except for the above. I did find him once in a census staying at a type of boarding house (possibly for seamen) with his name only.
Where did he come from, what type of mariner was he, where did he marry, so many questions with no answers. I would be very very appreciative if anyone can help at all. Thank you (fingers crossed)
