Hi,

Apologies for that, I had meant it for everyone who had given me advice and help. Because you say it will be along in Nov. sometime I think I will hold off buying a photocopy of the death from PRONI. Its not long to wait. Thank you    popsit

Because of where I am getting a cert. is costly hence the hope someone here might have privy to info really close to what I am looking for that might give me a little thread to run with as credits are costly if you dont get the info you want straight away.

Thank you for your reply. I had originally purchased five credits and inadvertantly bought a "death enhanced view" leaving me with four credits. This view didn't tell me anything that I didn't already know. If I purchase another credit and get a copy of a death what am I likely to get from it apart from name, date of death, place, age.  All boiled down I would like to find out what nee name of the Mary in the Griffiths valuation was. I know deep down that this may never happen lol but I hang on to the theory that there might be something somewhere waiting for me to find it.Thats genealogy for you and I love it. Once again thank you for your time, much appreciated.

It doesn’t really matter where you live. For events in Northern Ireland that are not yet free on the irishgenealogy site, you can view the original certificates on-line for £2.50 a time, on the GRONI site. That’s not very expensive, and is the same price for you as we pay in Ireland.

The image of the cert should be online by Nov this year all going well on Irish Genealogy.
It may not have enough to tell if she is yours it depends on where she died and who the informant was.

Is the cert not available on PRONI?

The father will only be marked as deceased if the question was asked.

Thank you. The reason why I am here asking my query is because I had credits on the irish genealogy site where I got the enhanced view. Because of where I am getting a cert. is costly hence the hope someone here might have privy to info really close to what I am looking for that might give me a little thread to run with as credits are costly if you dont get the info you want straight away.Thank you however for your time in replying.

Armagh / death details
« on: Monday 13 August 18 22:21 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I am looking for anyone with more clues than me please. I have a death registration which is scant and wonder if anyone here can glean more info on the person for me. Following is the info I have.

Reg. details  D/1871/14/1002/3/39
Armagh (pre 1973 Q4Richill

Orr
Mary
female
widowed
14th Nov. 1871
82

Armagh (pre-1973 Q4)

This is an enhanced view of her death which tells me nothing. I was hoping as I have said above someone would be able to find a bit more detailed info. like who her husband might have been, any children still living, anything that I can definitely say she is mine. Her husband was William. If there is somewhere that will tell me her nee name. I have an 1810 marriage detail that says my Mary's nee name was Quinn but I have to be sure that this one is mine. Her husband, William died sometime before her. She was in the griffiths valuation and she was a widow then. If I can be greedy, can I also ask, on the marriage cert of one of their sons it states who the father was and doesnt say he was deceased (1853 marriage) could he still have been deceased. Any info would enable me to find a death for Willam also. Any and all help really greatly appreciated. Thank you

carrying on with my Thomas. Since being on here last I have managed to get from the British Library the info I had wanted from the 1939 register that stated that I would have to apply to get the household transcript opened. The people there were the people I thought would be bar one. I am going to try and find out more on this person but if not I will be back. This is just to say a big thank you for all the help and advise I have received since joining this group.

I am not sure what you are talking about.  If you are looking for a check of another source such as an electoral roll, you do realise that the children will not appear until after they reached the voting age of 21.  There were no elections held during the war years.

Debra  :)

Yes I was looking for another source however it might pay me to look for the first electoral rolls after the war to see where they were. Thank you for your answer.

Can't help with your actual query but I can take a photo of 144 Midgeland Rd for you as I only live a few minutes drive from it.

Midgeland Rd is split into 2 parts separated by a main road.  Unfortunately - at the moment, both parts are only accessible one way due to extensive road works that have been going on since last year so it will depend whether I am able to park up to take a photo.  Will let you know in the next couple of days

Thank you for your kind offer, however as you probably know in genealogy information can come long after you think you have all you can get as is in my case. Yes I do have a pic of the road in question and also looked at it on google earth a year or so back.
