Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Re: Living DNA
« on: Saturday 12 August 23 22:40 BST (UK)  »
Hi I'v tested with Myheritage and Ancestry and uploaded from Ancestry to Livingdna.
I haven't had any success with Livingdna and assume that's just the way things go.

Many thanks for the explanation Biggles50.
I have had many more responses on Myheritage not very successful on Ancestry.

Good morning Biggles50 thank you for your reply but l don't understand  what you say.
Also thank you Jnomad l hadn't realized permission had to be given for matches to view the shared dna. I thought Myheritage had made an error.
I did contact my match a number of times without a reply but l will await

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Chromosome Browser Myheritage
« on: Tuesday 01 August 23 23:28 BST (UK)  »
Has anyone else experienced a missing chromosome browser - shared dna segments.
I recently got a match on Myheritage 1st cousin's son but found it odd the missing section.
All my other matches carry the details but not this person.

Hi everyone
Just a note to say l eventually found family of William Whelan my uncle. The family are puzzled about his early life in Ireland which he spoke of only to say it was a hard time.
I want to say a big thank you once again for all help and support given

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Re: Longest segments in dna
« on: Saturday 13 May 23 11:31 BST (UK)  »
Good morning everyone thank you for all the info you guys have added to my original question ie :- longest segment count? Now all but one person are son's of 1st cousins the other 1st cousins daughter.
When l checked Myheritage longest segments are lowest 41.2 highest 124..9
One comes up as 2nd cousin which is incorrect.
Ancestry does show lower counts but only two to compare and not sure how to see length of segment on there.
I won't get everyone bogged down with all counts just wanted to thank everyone -also to let you know these 1st cousins children are from my grandfather and grandmother's other relationships partners.
I never knew of them before having had my dna test - I'm so de!lighted with this outcome

I did a lot of reading  last night and although l don't understand all of it does make sense that we can get varying amounts of dna coming down the line -
The person who came up with long segment only on Myheritage but l will look at other matches l have on Ancestry & Livingdna
