Trying to find out who I need to contact regarding either of the above mental asylums. Time period  I'm looking at would be mid 1940's.
I am told that inmates could be photographed and details such as description of height, hair colour etc.
All a long shot as I dont know for sure if the person I am searching was ever their!!!!!!

Hello myluck, Sorry for late reply just read your message. Thanks for all your thoughts on how I can trace Catherine Kelly and Stephen Power. I contacted the church at Kilaveney but so far I havent had a reply this was a copule of weeks ago so I may try again.
Oh how I wish I was looking for unsual names rather than very more common ones, such is life.
Catherine is  refered to as a Dealer on the marriage certificate and her father Charles Kelly is a Tinsmith so I am thinking they may have been travellers. When I visted Wexford some time ago I was told Power was not a traveller name but all points to this theory.

Hi all many thanks for your interest shown regarding the convalescent home Buxton. The date I am looking at is approx 1952 and I am not sure if it is a Nurses Home or Nursing Home all I know is a family member was sent there to rest, no other info.
Its all a bit odd because the original details states she was refered from Ripley Cottage Hospital this is near to Harrogate Yorkshire, but when I contacted Yorkshire Archives  and Harrogate main library I was told no such place ever exsisted. !!!!!

Ray you are so funny you made me laugh. ;D

Hello there myluck,
Many thanks for your message. I am looking for both children and ancestors of Catherine Kelly and Stephen Power.
Their father's names are Charles Kelly and Michael Power.
My grandfather Charles Power born 1908 I have since found out from Wexford Parish that he was baptised at Bride St Church.
I had asssumed that Catherine and Stephen may have had a child before my grandfather, but nothing is for sure.

Hi, Many thanks for the info, the Charles kelly at Bolaboy looks intersting as he states he is a Tinsmith. He seems at 70yrs to be more like the age of grandad of Catherine rather than father. Although having said that I dont know her grandfathers name it was the Tinsmith that caught my attention.
I have the witness on the marriage cert so will check them out as I carnt assume they too didnt have fixed address.
Its all very intersting  :)

Hi there Elwyn, Thanks for your reply. I have got the hard copy from Roscommon it gives names of father's etc, but only stated full age and no fixed address. I have tried to find the exact location of this church Kilaveney but so far without success. I got it into my head that when they had their children they may have taken them to the church where they had married to be baptised. Of course l could be wide of the make here.  :-\
But if anyone else knows the full address for Roman Catholic Church of Kilaveney I would appreciate this knowlege.

Hello heywood have now got marriage certificate for Charles Power parents. They married Kilaveney
RC Church Sillelagh Wicklow 1906 Stephen Power labourer, (his father Michael Power also labourer) to Catherine Kelly dealer (her father Charles kelly Tinsmith) Can see where the name Charles fits in now. I have put a post on the Wicklow page. The more information I find the more I want to find out its all quite intersting. A lady dealer I assume she may have been a horse dealer as I know Charles their son became eventually. Not sure where I go from here with the search would value your input.
