Hello Steve G. Ward is my grandmothers maiden name. the Birmingham connection was that Charles moved there for work. having previously been a hosre dealer moving around Eire.
When grandma moved to England she stayed in Liverpool, not sure at what point she moved onto Birminham or if Charles moved to Liverpool. I was told in Ireland Ward is a traveller name.
 ???

Travelling People / Power/Ward
« on: Monday 27 August 12 14:08 BST (UK)  »
My grandparents travelled around Eire, Grandfather Charles was a horsedealer. In the late 1904's charles moved to Birmingham England, his wife Kathleen known as Ellen stayed in a caravan in Turenure. When she did eventually move to England she moved into a house and as far as I know never return to the caravan life. I have been told Power is not a traveller name! As I am getting on in age now there is a lack information. So if there are any Power/ Ward from Wexford/Enniscorthy/Dublin areas I would be grateful for any input.  ;D

Hello there Ray T, Many thanks for your interested in the Nurses Convalescent Home Buxton. I was unsure as to title Nurses but thought it was worth following up. I guess if it was a private home then it would be almost impossible to track down.  :'(

Been looking for a convalescent home in Buxton refered to as Nurse's Convalescent Home.
The local library have made mention of Home for ladies at 7, Belverdere Terr, West Road Buxton.
Can anyone fill me in with further details? the time period I am looking at is early 1950's.
