Completed Census Requests / Re: Claybury Hospital
« on: Friday 09 November 18 22:38 GMT (UK)  »
I have just found out that my great grandfather Wilfrid t g w Baker was admitted to the Claybury Hospital at the end of WW1, I wasn't aware of this, but found this out through his service record on the forces website. How could I find out further information about this?

Mary Menhennet Hoskin married someone with the surname of Bennetts, I have her on the 1911 census, as married with a daughter Dorothy Kathleen Bennetts, but I am not having a lot of success finding his christian name and where they married.

Any help would be grateful

Thanks
Chelly

Yes that does look like it could be him, do you know where I could access the births, marriages and deaths of those miners and their families that lived in Morro Velho, Brazil?

I have the marriage of them, but am unable to find any subsequent births, deaths or marriages of their children.

Thanks for the info

Cornwall / Looking for information on Christopher Menhennet HOSKIN

I know that Christopher married Susan Jenkin Pascoe in Morro Velho, Brazil om 28.09.1858, he was a miner and she was a miners daughter.
I have not been able to find any records for Christopher, his parent's or any siblings, I do know that Susan returned to Cornwall in 1874 with only her son Edward in tow, but no Christopher!

Any ideas?

Hi

I have only just joined Rootschat .com and came across this question.

I was brought up near St Hilary, there is no pub there, but there are 2 in nearby Golsithney, the Trevelyan and also the Crown Inn.

The Britannia does still exist and is called the Godolphin Arms, Herland is now under Godolphin, my husband was brough up in Herland Road in Godolphin and we have both spent memory hours in the Godolphin Arms as young adults!
