This may explain why he is listed as Isaa in 1841 and it would be his father not his uncle.
Amondg - I think you read my reply incorrectly.

1841Isaiah/Isaac and brother Thomas are with probable father Thomas
1871 Isaacs son is living with his uncle Thomas.

Nice find by the way  :)

Is son Thomas born 1861 living with his uncle Thomas Dixon in Westmorland on the 1871 census?

If so is this Thomas and brother Isaac with possible father on the 1841 census:

Parish of Rydal and Loughrigg, Westmorland
Thomas Dixon, 40, Ag. Lab, Not born in County
Thomas Dixon, 15, Not born in County
Isaa Dixon, 9, Not born in County

His death was registered in the High Peak district, but sadly his birth date hasn`t been added so no wonder I couldn`t find a William Ford born 27th December, 1904  ::).  It was his probate that was proved at Sheffield, he didn`t die there.

From my own personal research the parish records available online for Devon are extremely hit and miss. You just have to put them on the back burner and see what appears in the future. Not all records have been transcribed,  in fact hardly any.

If I have got the right man I don`t think they split up, but moved to Clitheroe for a couple of years until he died.  If you check Lancashirebmd a daughters birth was registered 1845.  Her death was registered in Blackburn 1847.

I had to log in this morning which must be the first time in around two years, but nothing has changed.  Are you using the .com or .co.uk site?
