« on: Tuesday 10 December 13 17:56 GMT (UK)  »
 Hi all....
I am looking for John Bargrove/ Bargrave Liscoe he was born 25 Dec 1821 and baptised 5 May 1822 in Beckenham Kent the son of George & Mary Liscoe. I am looking for his death which I cannot find he is not the Liverpool death.
 I have him in 1841 HO107/484 F 41 P28 in Lewisham aged 20.
In 1851 he is listed as a curable  patient at the Royal Hospital of Bethlehem aged 29
 HO107/1565 F524 P12.
He marries a couple of months later to Mary Porter .
A daughter Mary Ann born in 1852 Brentford reg district.
In 1861 Mary A Liscoe aged 41 b Hull Yorks and daughter Mary Ann aged 8 born Twickenham are living as Housekeeper and visitor at The Parsonage in Humbleton Yorks
 RG9/306 F 26 P17. Mary is listed as a widow.
The next I see of Mary junior is her marriage in 1872 to Henry George Sharplin. Her father is listed as John Benjamin Liscoe a gardener -same as on his own marriage.
His death has evaded me so any help you can offer thanks

« on: Saturday 27 July 13 07:46 BST (UK)  »

Today marks the 60th anniversary of the signing of the final armistice that ended the Korean war.
Almost a forgotten war by many other than those who served and witnessed it first hand.
Over 1100 members of the British forces died during the 3 years of the War many were at that time on National Service.
For.   Lance Corporal Norman S Smith age 20
             The Royal Norfolk Regiment
             Died 3 March 1952
Buried Pusan United Nations Memorial Cemetery .

Armed Forces / Korea March 1952
« on: Thursday 11 July 13 20:15 BST (UK)  »
Hi All....

I am looking for pointers on a casualty from the Korean war.
Lance Corp Norman S Smith died Monday 3 March 1952 and is buried in Pusan/ Busan in the United Nations Memorial Cemetery plot 22 row pos 11 grave serial 1406.

His brother is our now elderly neighbour and whilst chatting in his garden the other day I told him all about my sons project to detail the lives of the boys from our village who are on the war memorial. It only contains WW1 roll of honour and the 3 boys who died on service.
My neighbour said it was always their late mothers wish to see some mention of Norman but at the time no-one seemed interested.
So before I start to ring and make myself annoying.... what's the best way to do this?
Who should I approach... Parish Clerk? the church? Royal British Legion? Local paper?
Any ideas please as I have never tackled anything like this but feel Norman needs to have some one fighting for him now.

 Hello all
I have a stray that I would like to chase up please.

World War Two / Hatfield House WW2
« on: Monday 02 July 12 17:10 BST (UK)  »

 Hi All....

I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction. My friends grandfather was sent to Hatfield House during WW2 as it was being used as a hospital. She has various details from his war records but wanted to know more about his time here.
Was it used for particular cases or injuries that sort of thing to help build a bigger picture.
 Anyone have any suggestions please?
