Nottinghamshire / William Tuckwood-Apprentice Shoemaker 1800 ish.
« on: Thursday 27 September 12 11:28 BST (UK)  »
Good morning all,I'm trying to find an Apprenticeship to be a Shoemaker that William Tuckwood (1779? )would have had to have had to teach his son Charles (1804) they lived in Nottingham St Marys. In 1814 William was living at Boot Lane,Shoemaker.1822 he was in Cross St Shoemaker,1825 again in Cross St Shoemaker.
Deardons Directory,Notts 1834 says "Boot and Shoemakers Tuckwood C. and W. Beck Lane Notts.
The Glover Directory Notts 1844 entry for Shoemaker Charles Tuckwood-Newcastle St.I
n 1838,Charles took on an Apprentice,Thomas Cooper which means he was a Master Shoemaker.
To date,I have not found anything appertaining to William.
Can anyone help please.
Thanks
Maggie
