Hello Rootschatters,

I have a 1678 Testament Dative and Inventory nearly fully figured out.  But, there are two words in relation to one item in the Inventory that have me stumped.  Any assistance is greatly appreciated in solving this little mystery.  I have highlighted the two words in yellow.  The remainder of the item is, as I make it:

Item ....... Estimat worth xx s. the peice overheid Inde .... lib.

Thank you

Hello, Rootschatters,

I have a photograph of an ancestor and on the back of it there are three lines at the top that read (I think):

Meine ------------------- Mutter

Meine ------------------- Mutter

Meine ------------------- Mutter

They are not written by the same person who wrote the deceased's name at the bottom and identified her as their great-great-grandmother.

If anyone can fill in the three gaps, I'd be very grateful.

Hi, Rootschatters,

This is the worst document I've ever seen!  I can't even tell if it's written in Latin, Spanish, or French.

If anyone can help decipher this document, I'd be very grateful.

Thank you.

Hi, Rootschatters,

I have all of this Will transcribed but need help with 3 words and the heavily abbreviated and badly written probate clause.  I've added the 3 snippets.  The words I need help with are highlighted in yellow.

Thank you for any and all assistance.

Hello Rootschatters,

I am struggling with a document from the Quebec archives dated in 1667.  I can translate it into English once I am able to read the French.

I have attached an excerpt of the document with the words highlighted in yellow that I am struggling to read.  I realize it may be impossible to read the two interlineations and the one overwritten portion. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Armed Forces / Location of HMS Pembroke II and HMS Blenheim Nov-Dec 1911
« on: Saturday 10 February 24 22:19 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, Rootschatters,

I wonder if anyone can help me with this dilemma.  I need to find the exact location of the HMS Pembroke II during November 1911 and of the HMS Blenheim from 22 Nov 1911 to mid-December of 1912.  There is one enlisted serviceman in particular, Frederick Charnock, service number 209025.  I have the details of his service from his service record and the medal rolls.  He was a leading stoker on both ships and I need to pin down his exact location, e.g. were both ships under sail somewhere, or were they docked somewhere.

Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Hi, Rootschatters,

I have encountered three short phrases in a probate clause of 1633 that I need assistance with.  I have attached a screen short of the complete clause and have highlighted in yellow the three areas I need help with.

Thanking all of you for any assistance.

Hello Rootschatters,

I am working on a WWI mililtary service record that is in French.  There are quite a few areas that I'm having trouble deciphering so I've attached the section in its entirety.  In the next paragraph of this post I've set out my interpretation so far.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Canada Lookup Request / Lookup needed in Ontario Land Records Index
« on: Wednesday 20 September 23 20:05 BST (UK)  »
Hi, Rootschatters,

Does anyone have easy access to the Ontario Land Records Index microfiche either at the Archives of Ontario, FamilySearch Library at Salt Lake City,  or at a public library that has it?

If so, I would greatly appreciate a lookup in the Nominal section for DAVID MASON.  I need the lot, concession and township numbers of his location.  Also any additional information that may be included in his record.  He should appear on fiche #29 of the series.

Thank you so much.
