Cheshire Lookup Requests / Re: Stanley Family Wirral
« on: Wednesday 10 April 24 21:49 BST (UK)  »
Found it, was Ancestry the info came from but I must have for some reason put 1590 down as a birth year and it should have been 1585 ::) Jane and Thomas had a son also called Thomas who was born in April 1632 also in Storeton. Apparently he married Ellena Millington and they went onto have 6 children.

Cheshire Lookup Requests / Stanley Family Wirral
« on: Monday 08 April 24 21:19 BST (UK)  »
Long time since I have been here! Back again now as I was hoping to try to find some info on the Stanley Family. I can trace my family back to Thomas Stanley born 1590 in Storeton Cheshire and died in 1638. He was married to Jane Owen I believe but I cant find any more about them. I know the Stanley family of Wirral goes back a long way but so far I have not been able to find the link further back.  Be grateful of any ideas, I started doing my family tree 24 years ago and have decided to give it another go as my 21 year old granddaughter now seems to have developed an interest in her ancestors too ;D

I wonder if you and my hubby are distant relatives then. Long time since I have been on here and it’s nice to see replies are still popping up. I can’t remember the line of his JONES family now I will have to look on the family tree ( old grey matter is failing!) Will post on here when I have found it. Thanks for the reply 🙂

Just wonder if its worth me looking up the two addresses associated with those marriages Soho Street and St Annes street in the 1861 census. I know My GG nan Martha lived in Blake Street when she married in 1866. They seemed to be on the move an awful lot.

And Edward Graham is James son in law he married Sarah Ellen so the family are most defiantly around but he seems to avoid the census!  Something confuses me though I have a copy of his daughter Martha's Marriage cert and he was never marked as deceased yet she married in 1866???

He seemed very good at killing wives off :) I think that the occupation of shoemaker seemed to follow him, so its probably more to go on his occupation.   I am going to have to look up who was at Cuerdon  St in 1851 ( any chance of a folio number ?) see if I can trace any family members there.  I am just wondering if the lack of evidence for any of the family being in Lower Thurlow St in 1851 (his burial records for May that year say abode Lower Thurlow St) just mean the invigilator was doing a very good job?
