My 3 x Gt Grandmother was called Julia Widder Mills (maiden name).  She was born in Pulman St Mary Norfolk  England in 1793.  I am most interested to find any Widders anywhere because I think that this name may have been given to Julia through a Widder relative or friend.  I have no other Widders on my tree.

Would love to hear from you.

Canada / CHARLES JAMES SPARHAM

Hi all,

My 2 x Great Uncle Charles James Sparham emigrated to Ontario Canada in 1876.   He was born in Shimpling Norfolk on 16 Dec 1821.  He was a Farmer and had 2 sons .  They were Charles Simson Sparham b. 1856 in Walthamstow London and George E Sparham b 1859 in Ontario Canada.  The family returned to England as they are on the 1871 census.   As mentioned, they went to live in Canada in 1876 where a girl was born to Charles called Alice C Sparham in Ontario.

Charles' wife was Jane Simson b. about 1822 in Arlesford, Essex, England (I can find nothing about her parens).

Charles died in 1904 of a heart attack in Kent, Ontario, Canada.

If I have any Canadian relatives or if anyone can help on this, I would love to hear from you

Hi all

I wonder if anyone can throw a light on Albert James Sparham b. 1933 (place of birth unknown to me) and he died in 2002 on the IOW.   The reason I ask is that Sparham is my maternal line and when enquiring about Sparhams on the Isle of Man, someone kindly directed me to this information.

If anyone knows anything about Albert i.e. parents etc I would be so interested to hear, he may be one of my Sparhams.

Many thanks

Many thanks Suz.  I have seen him in the 1891 census and there is no Ada.  Mum and I truly wonder if she was not put in a convent but in the Workhouse as a child.  She may have made the whole thing up.  Unfortunately we don't have any photos of her, she tore them all up and those of my mother when young so we have hardly any pics of her.   I do think she had issues but I know she looked after me and I never saw that side.

Many thanks for your help Suz.

Heavens - just looked at Mona's marriage cert.   She's got Arthur as dead!!!   Years before the event.   He died in 1933.   I think I know why.  My Great Grandfather fell in love with the maid years before he married her.   Ada Fellingham was the maid and is my Great Grandmother lol.  They had many children before the marriage, whilst Elizabeth was still alive.   Mona may have felt a tad bitter when she decided to list him as deceased.   Merry Xmas one and all  ;D
