Looking for info. on the above, the only info i have is as follows:- 1891 he and his wife Catherine,   are listed   living as a relative with Charles Lockett & family @ 57 ryland St. Salford, working back from ages given he was b. c. 1856,  Manchester & her c.1853 Liverpool,

Please forgive my ignorance, we are trying to settle a friendly argument, if such a thing is possible between husband & wife. I say that as you move further back on you tree that the lineage doubles, ie. 2 parents, 4 grandparents, 8 g.grandparent, 16 g.g. grandparents,and so on. my wife say's it's a stupid thought, please someone settle either way before we divorce after 42 years.

On "ancestry" , CRI, there is shown a relation of mine, John Lilly, marrying a ,Euterpe C. Politachi, the date shown is September quarter 1889. Salford, I know it's a long shot, but has anyone got a 1881 census showing this unusual surname ?. Also iv'e a relation who was a "bargee" how did they record their place of residence at census ?

Not 100% sure where the marriage was, but in the 1940s George and Florence lived in Walkley Lane, her brother Jo lived with them,, Jessie lived in Hillsboro, but spent her last days in Middlewood asylum, suffering from the effects of a bombing raid, Clara lived in Morley St, both the last two were married but i have no details, Claras son, Kenneth was killed aged 21 in the early days of the war, i am tryiong to get info re George Thomas Riley, i think he died in Leeds ?. Most of the Riley males were in the army, Kings Hussars, Cavalry Barracks, Fulford ,Yorks. Sorry i dont have more
