Y List

Ainslie is correct.

The Y List is composed of non-effectives 1 to 8 sick, detention , leave pending discharge etc but I cannot help with the (e) in the original post.
Nothing on X List.

I have a book published in 1981 on military abbreviations. DD has three meanings one of which is Discharged Dead.

I attended the final (because of their age) Burma Star Veterans service at Derby Cathedral yesterday.
The organiser (also a veteran) , Eric Frearson,  told me that over the years he had traced all but one of the bomber crew he was with in Burma 1944/45.

The man in question was/is Flight Sergeant 1437382 S Roberts, 354 Squadron R.A.F. and he was demobbed in 1945 to:-

8 Hughes Row , Bethania Rd, Acrefair, Wrexham.

Can anyone with local knowledge shed any light on this person please.

Thank you

Stuart

Just a thought, go to http://ukbookworld.com and list it as a want ( link at the bottom of the page)

No copies available at the moment but if one is added to the database you will/should be notified by email if you you list it as an item of interest.

My fault, meant to include the date of the paper which was 11th June 1915.

Local Derby Paper,  he was included in a list of  wounded soldiers. At this time he was still with 1st Battalion.
