Hi all
I am looking for a birth record or an 1881/1891 Census entry for the above. Annie was b 1871 in Hulme, Manchester. I know her whereabouts after she married James William Poole in Bradford in 1893 but cannot find any record of her early life/family in MAnchester.
Any help greatly appreciated

Staffordshire / TENNANT

Hi all
I am looking for any births registered in the area (or possibly Worcs as boundaries seem to vary frequently!) to a Richard Tennant (b1852 in Wolves) and Fanny (nee Harrison) (b1855 Portobello) married 1875.
On their 1911 Census record they have been married for 36 years and have had 15 children, 10 of who are still living and 5 of which have died.
The 10 I have found are:-
Fanny b1876 (Portobello)
Edward b1877 (Portobello)
Bertha b1880 (Portobello)
John b1882 (Cannock)
Elizabeth b1884 (Cannock)
Rachel b1887 (Cannock)
Richard b1890 (Yorks)
Mary b1892 (Yorks)
Dora b1893 (Yorks)
George b1895 (Yorks) - my direct relation

So I am missing 5 births from this list. If anyone can point me in right direction or supply me with details of these missing births I'd be most grateful.
Regards

Wondering if anyone can help with a specific request?
I am looking for the 1851 Census entry for Richard Garnett b. Warley, Halifax, West Yorks. in 1841/2? I have found hime on every Census until his death in Stalybridge, Cheshire in 1885 but no joy on his 1851 whereabouts. I have found his parents in 1851, but surprisingly he was not with them on their entry.....
Mystery!!

P:S: He married my ancestor Susan Hassall in 1862 @ St Georges Church, Hyde, Cheshire if that helps you to work back!

Cheshire Lookup Requests / Wilkinson family Great Budworth
« on: Saturday 11 May 13 11:51 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I am searching for the Wilkinson family who lived in/around Great Budworth in the late 18th Century. Specifically a Joseph Wilkinson b 1790/1 and his parents who I believe were John & Esther Wilkinson. I would like to find any siblings of Josephs & also his 1st marriage as I know he had 2 children, Francis & Walter born 1816 & 1821 respectively?

Cheshire Lookup Requests / Norton family 1750-1800 Stalybridge
« on: Saturday 11 May 13 11:08 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone,

I am trying to find the origins of an ancestor of mine. Clarina Norton was born 1804 in Stalybridge. I know she married a John Hassall (also b 1804) in 1824 in Stalybridge. She also had a brother Thomas Norton b 1802.
What I am looking for are the Norton family before this in Stalybridge. I believe her parents were Thomas & Betty (nee Goodwin) but I cannot confirm this. I believe there were at least 3 branches of Norton families in Stalyubridge at this time. Including Shoe-makers and Publicans (Fox Tavern, Stalybridge).

If anyone can shed any light on this I'd be most grateful. They seem to have belonged to Old St Georges Church in Stalybridge also.

Cheshire Lookup Requests / Susannah HASSALL
« on: Saturday 04 May 13 13:50 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,

I just wondered if anyone could help with info about someone I believe to be a distant ancestor of mine? My 3X G-Grandmother was a SUSANNAH HASSALLwho lived in Stalybridge (which fluctuates between Cheshire & Lancashire) in the early-mid 1800s. I know she gave birth to my 2X G-Grandfather JOHN HASSALL in 1804 in Stalybridge, with 'father unknown' on his baptism record.
The only other mention of a SUSANNAH HASSALL in Stalybridge at this time is on the 1841 Census where she is married to a JOSEPH WILKINSON (b1791, Stockport) and living in Stalybridge with Josephs two sons from his 1st marriage. They married at St Michaels, Ashton Under Lyne in 1831. On this Census record Susannah states that she was born in 1781 in Audlem, Cheshire.

So I guess what I am looking for would be HASSALL families in the Audlem area around 1760-1780. As I say if anyone can help it would be very much appreciated.

Banffshire / MacKay/Watson/West/Nicholson
« on: Thursday 02 May 13 14:06 BST (UK)  »
Hi all

I am researching the names above:
McKay ~ Macduff
Watson ~ Macduff
Nicholson ~ Banff/Wick
West ~ Banff/Macduff

My maternal grandmother was Catherine Nicholson born 1921 in Aberdeen but lived in Banff to Charles Stuart Nicholson & Sarah Ann (nee Cameron).  She married my grandfather Innes McKay b.1919 (MAcduff) on 19 July 1945 in Banff. His father and mother were Innes McKay b1887/8 (Macduff) & Margaret Ann Watson b1887 (Macduff). Innes & most of his sons were fishermen, as so many were at that time.
If anyone has any information about these branches and their ancestors I'd be very grateful if you could contact me through this thread.

Completed Census Requests / Sarah Ann Walker Hurst, Ashton, Lancs
« on: Sunday 28 April 13 22:00 BST (UK)  »
Hi all

I am stuck with a brick wall here and hoping for some help.
I have a marriage for William Gaskill Heyworth to Sarah Ann Walker in 1903 at Ashton Register Office. However I think I have been working the wrong Sarah Ann Walker :(
William Heyworth was b1875 in Rochdale. I had been working off the belief that Sarah Ann Walker was from Chinley/Chapel en le Frith Derbyshire. It now appears this is wrong and that the Srah Ann Walker I require was born circa 1882 in Rotherham, Yorkshire.
William & Sarah were my Grandfathers parents and I have them living on Hope St in Ashton under Lyne Lancs on the 1911 Census.
What I really need is Sarahs origins.
Sorry to set you all to work on a sunday night but I know how you all love a brick wall ;)

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Stott family of Halifax 1820-1850s
« on: Sunday 28 April 13 14:17 BST (UK)  »
Hi Everyone,

I am specifically looking for a James Stott and Mary Ann Stott. They married sometime around 1830-32 in Halifax, Yorkshire I believe. I know from the 1871 Census that Mary Ann (b1815 Halifax) Stott was by then a widow living in Stalybridge, Lancashire with several of her children. Namely Emma Stott (b1833), Samuel (b1843), Susannah (b1848), Ann (b1851) & Martha Jane (b1853) all born in Halifax, Yorkshire.
From this I am guessing James Stott married Mary Ann (nee UNKNNOWN) before the birth of Emma, so pre-1833 in the Halifax area.
If anyone has any local knowledge from parish records of the Halifax area I would be grateful for anything that anyone can pass onto me.

Regards Jason
