Yorkshire (West Riding) / Stott family of Halifax 1820-1850s

Hi Everyone,

I am specifically looking for a James Stott and Mary Ann Stott. They married sometime around 1830-32 in Halifax, Yorkshire I believe. I know from the 1871 Census that Mary Ann (b1815 Halifax) Stott was by then a widow living in Stalybridge, Lancashire with several of her children. Namely Emma Stott (b1833), Samuel (b1843), Susannah (b1848), Ann (b1851) & Martha Jane (b1853) all born in Halifax, Yorkshire.
From this I am guessing James Stott married Mary Ann (nee UNKNNOWN) before the birth of Emma, so pre-1833 in the Halifax area.
If anyone has any local knowledge from parish records of the Halifax area I would be grateful for anything that anyone can pass onto me.

Regards Jason

Hi all
I think I have found a link between my family and the Winterbothams of Peak Forest/Castleton.
An ancestor of mine Thomas Walter Walker (b1856/d1882) is recorded in the 1861 census living in Chinley, Derbyshire. His descendants ended up living in Asthon-under-Lyne, Lancs. However, I believe I have traced a connection back from Thomas Walker to an Isaac Walker (his grandfather) b1783 in Castleton d1858 in Chapel-en-le-Frith. Isaac married Ann (b1783/d1873) but I don't know her maiden name or the year of marriage.
I have found links to various families in the area: Sidebotham (Chapel-en-le-Frith); Shirt (Chapel-en-le-Frith); Winterbotham (Peak Forest).
Any information that would help me join up the dots would be greatly appreciated
Regards, Jason
