Cardiganshire / Re: Thomas Jones, Bettws Bledrws, Maes-y-Felin Lookup

Hi Jen,

Thanks for the response :)

Thomas was living there in 1786 as he is there for the birth of his son John and is still there around 1800 from the birth of his daughter Jane. He then moves with his wife to his daughter who resides in Trefynor in Gartheli and they die there. I dont know what happens between 1800 and 1841 as there is no information as yet. Thomas comes from Nantcwnlle but I dont find a marriage record for him and his wife Jane. Trying to see if the connection to Betws Bledrws is simply a farm being available or if there is a family connection for example to Glanbrechan.

Thanks again

Ian

Hi Jen, thanks for looking! This Thomas Jones dies Jun 1846, I can find his burial in the register June 29 1846. Took a while to unpick the relationships! His son John Jones dies 1867 and his children Thomas 1879, Daniel 1869, John 1900, William 1906. All buried Betws Bledrws.

Thanks again.

I think Thomas jones Llwynbobi is not part of the glanbrechan family. He is originally from nantcwnlle and ends up in trefynor in Gartheli with his wife Jane and daughter Jane but is buried in Betws bledrws. His son is john jones of cilgwyn-Isaf who does have a child who goes to America according to a newspaper article.

Wondering if you've managed to find any additional information on William Richard. I have photos of the graves of Peter and his wife Elizabeth if you are interested?

Thanks

Cardiganshire / John Jones- Glanlery
« on: Monday 26 August 13 17:42 BST (UK)  »
Looking for any information on John Jones from Glanlery in Llanfihangel GG, he is born 1775 and in Cilolwg according to the 1851 census where he lives with his daughter Anna Maria and Lumley Edwards and family. I know there was a Nanteos Edward Jones living there in 1760 but his will shows he had no children. John also had 2 other children, Mary who married John James and they lived in Dolclewttwr in Llancynfelyn and Abraham William Jones who Catherine Roberts and moved back to Glanlery when his father died. Any help appreciated!

Avidt,

Apologies for posting at the end of an old post but searching for my relatives seems to have brought up your post. I am looking at Richards from Cunnill-Mawr and notice your post on Argoed-fach. I have a suspicion that Peter Richards is the brother of my relative John Richards (1791-1865 born in CunnillMawr and has a son called Peter). I note you have the will of Peter Richards father, William Richards. Can you please let me know where you got this as I would like to get a copy?

Thanks
