US Lookup Requests / Henry Thomas and Bridget Feeney ,Dublin
« on: Friday 30 June 17 11:31 BST (UK)  »
Hi All
Henry Thomas born 1862 Dublin and Bridget Feeney born 1866 Dublin married in St Patrick's Pro Cathedral.Newark,New Jersey 26th Dec 1888
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FZ5W-C8Q

They were back in Dublin before 1901 and possibly just after their marriage as they appear to have a son Henry age 12 in 1901
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/Wood_Quay/Golden_Lane/1341187/
1911
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Dublin/Merchant_s_Quay/Braithwaite_Street/55786/

They dont appear to have bothered to have registered most of their childrens births and those that they did have different names than the names on the census
eg Essie reg as Mary Esther ,Catherine reg as Bridget and i also found 2 infant deaths whose births are not registered.

What i am looking for is any travel documentation to or from U S A and if son Henry was possibly born in U S A.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Guiseppe or Joseph born about 1872

Cheshire / William Dixon and Elizabeth Buckley
« on: Thursday 30 March 17 14:22 BST (UK)  »
Hi All
I have a marriage in Bray,Wicklow Ireland of John Carroll to Elizabeth Dixon 1867
its a Catholic church but the Dixons may be Church of England
Elizabeth states parents as William Dixon and Elizabeth Buckley of Chester and in the remarks column the priest has written what looks like ''spouse Bray outsider''
marriage 236 here
http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000633720#page/22/mode/1up

Elizabeth died 1892 age 47 ? born circa 1845
John Carroll was born in Bray in 1841

interestingly on the 1901 Census of Dublin a nephew William Dixon age 22 born circa 1879 a stoker born Liverpool is staying with the family he is Church of Ireland
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/Arran_Quay/Great_Western_Square/1334801/

would like help locating Elizabeth's birth or parents marriage.

any help greatfully appreciated

Dublin / Winifred Griffin nee O'Sullivan
« on: Monday 27 March 17 17:58 BST (UK)  »
Winifred O'Sullivan was born and baptised in Newbridge Kildare in 1864 her parents Eugene/Owen O'Sullivan and Mary Freney were married in Dublin and seemed to be in Kildare till mid 1860s then back to Dublin both died mid 1890s in Dublin.

Winifred married Michael Griffin Nov 1880 in Pro Cathedral
Michael Griffin died 1893 in Dublin

1901 she's a widow
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/Inns_Quay/Upper_Dominick_Street/1279482/

1911 she's married
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Dublin/Inns_Quay/St__Mary_s_Avenue/35806/

the main problem i have is i cannot find a birth for any of the children with the exception of Eugene who was baptised and registered 1883.
So i am wondering are they all nurse children with their names changed.

the other problem is by 1964 Winifred would have been 100 there is no death recorded for her before 1964 nor does she appear on the Glasnevin index where her husband and children appear.

any ideas ?

« on: Friday 24 March 17 16:44 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all
I am waiting for this marriage to come online hopefully in the near future
John Carroll to Elizabeth Dixon/Dickson 1867 Rathdown
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FG8C-9L7

again helping out on another topic it must be karma as myluck said, for i stumbled across a marriage in Kingstown 29th June 1870 of
Thomas Carmichael to Mary Josephine Carroll whose parents are Daniel Carroll and Margaret Brabham ? of Bray the witnesses were John Carroll of Charlemont Place and Anne Carroll ,Bray
http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000633813#page/59/mode/1up

at this time John Carroll and Elizabeth Dixon were living in Charlemont Place
and Thomas and Mary Carmichael were the sponsors for their daughter Alice 1871
http://www.rootschat.com/links/01jsg/

so i am confident they are brother and sister.

would like some help with their mothers name is it Brabham ?

any input greatfully appreciated

Daniel McDonnell jnr got married in Dublin 1868 to Bridget Dunne
giving his parents as Daniel and Marie Connor

unfortunately he died 1896 age 48 born circa 1848

his son Timothy and grandson Patrick Cleary both attested to the Dublin Militia in 1907 giving their employer as Mr McDonnell 16 Charlemont St

his marriage to Elizabeth Donohoe in 1869 shows he is a brother to Daniel
http://www.rootschat.com/links/01j73/

Griffiths Valuations show 2 Daniels in Wicklow, Boystown and Dunganstown.
I have been through the Boystown film and did not find them there but i am not sure what Nli reel is for Dunganstown.
