I am beginning to wonder now if William was Elsie's second husband, Evelyn Furness Young was her first Husband and that is why i have struggled to find her birth in Poplar.

Will go to my local library next time i go into my local town shopping, and look up 1939 register. and i will look for the newspaper articles.
It would be a lot easier if someone from that generation of the family was still alive,and you could ask the questions that you want answers too.

This not the correct person my Elsie never lived in lancashire as i said in previous posting

I know my late uncle was doing the family tree, many years ago, so maybe found the death for
elsie lilian Searls and took it to be his aunt wife of his Uncle William and as he was living with his mother at that time, he may have told her this and that was why she believed she died in 1958, as both are now dead cannot ask them.
The address266 Manchester rd Cubitt town was the area that Williams parents lived they lived at
378 Manchester Rd.
Will now start a fresh search for Elsie's death around Orpington, as she was living there in 1964/65

I do not have Williams will, and as for Elsie's death i just have date given to me by my grandmother,
the information about the Lancashire connections are not connected as they lived in the London area all their lives.
All i was trying to find out was her actual birth and her parents,you are totally on the wrong family with Elsie Lilian Slade.
My Grandmother said they never had children because when they married in 1950 they were both in their thirties and they felt it was to late in life to start a family.
