Herefordshire / John Milward b1826 Bromyard
« on: Wednesday 10 April 13 01:59 BST (UK)  »
Hi All

Can anyone help please with regards to the parents of John Milward, born circa 1826 in Bromyard, Herefordshire.
If the parents are who I hope they are, then John should have brothers George, Thomas & Robert and a sister, Elizabeth ... if that helps with any searches.

Many thanks in advance of any assistance.

Kind Regards

Cheshire Lookup Requests / Charles Twigg Yeomans Milward b1883
« on: Wednesday 10 April 13 01:44 BST (UK)  »
Hi All

Looking for help please with regards to:

Charles Twigg Yeomans Milward, born c1883 in Middlewich, Cheshire.
Christened 1883 in Nantwich, Cheshire.
Parents names - John & Ann

There seems to be no further records of him after the 1891 census (where his birth date is incorrectly as 1888).
I have 'located' a Charles Twigg Yeomans Milward to the USA where he appears to have married a Rosina A .......?

However, even with 'Charles Twigg Yeomans Milward' being a 'one off name', I have located a USA web site dedicated to the family of a Charles Twigg Yeomans Milward and it states that 'he' was born in Ipswich, England??? ... it also states that his wife, Rosina A was born in Ireland but I've found records that say she was born in Scotland?

Confused? ... yes, me too!

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you in advance.

Kind Regards

Radnorshire / Ann, James & Thomas Milward born Whitton, Radnorshire
« on: Monday 08 April 13 19:11 BST (UK)  »
Hi All

Try as hard as I may, I have drawn a complete blank on the following children of Samuel & Elizabeth Milward of Whitton, Radnorshire ... could anyone please offer any bits of info that may help, thank you in advance of help:

Ann Milward
James Milward
Thomas Milward

All three were born circa 1760-1780 as a best guess and I'm fairly sure that Ann is the youngest of the three. There were four other brothers (George, John, Robert and Samuel) but I think I've traced them.

Thanks again in advance of any assistance.

Warwickshire / Samuel S G Milward died Bidford on Avon, Warks
« on: Monday 08 April 13 11:03 BST (UK)  »
Hi All

Having located the grave of my GGGGrandfather and GGGGrandmother in Bidford on Avon, Warwickshire ... and having been to view it, it has conjured up another mystery. The headstone confirms that they have a son buried with them ... can anyone please assist on information of this son, based on the known information given, many thanks in advance of any help:

Sons name (from headstone on grave) = Samuel S G Milward
Died = 5th April 1840
Aged = 28 (therefore, birth year must be 1812)
Father = Samuel Milward
Mother = Elizabeth Milward (nee Griffiths)

I have located two brothers of Samuel S G Milward (Thomas & Robert), both of which were born in Tenbury, Worcestershire, if that is any help at all. Samuel & Elizabeth (the parents) were both from Radnorshire in Wales and married in 1809 (in Whitton, Radnorshire) and I have Thomas (their son ... Samuel S G's brother) as born 1817 in Tenbury, Worcs ... hence my guess that Samuel S G Milward was probably born in Radnorshire or Tenbury?

He died in Bidford on Avon, 5th April 1840 and was buried 9th April 1840, I've no idea if he married or not.

Apologies for being longwinded but wanted to offer all known info 'up front'.

Many thanks in advance of any help once again.

Hi All

I'm seeking help please, with regards to the parents, grandparents etc of:

Elizabeth Griffiths, born 1784 at Whitton, Radnorshire, Wales.

Elizabeth married a Samuel Milward in 1809, in Whitton, Radnorshire. Having moved (with her husband, Samuel) to Tenbury, Worcestershire, England, Elizabeth ended her days (living with her son) in Pershore, Worcestershire. She was laid to rest at Bidford on Avon, Warwickshire ... where her late husband, Samuel was laid to rest, previously.

Any/all help would be very appreciated, many thanks in advance.

Radnorshire / SAMUEL MILWARD b1779 Beguildery, Radnorshire
« on: Wednesday 27 March 13 14:14 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All

I've located Samuel Milward to Beguildery (b1779) and found that he married an Elizabeth Griffiths in 1809 at Whitton, Radnorshire.

However, I cannot find any parents (or grandparents etc) of Samuel Milward?

Samuel was the first (in my line of the family) to be born in Wales, he later moved into Worcestershire (England) and died in Bidford on Avon, Warwickshire, England.

Any help on Samuel's parents, grandparents etc would be very much appreciated, thank you in advance.

Kent Lookup Requests / HENRY PARRY - Soapmaker, Deptford, Kent
« on: Wednesday 27 March 13 14:04 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All

Looking to find a billion to one chance here ... but if I don't ask, I'll never have that billion to one chance.

In the England 1861 census, Henry Parry (a soapmaker, living in Deptford, Kent) employed a servant by the name of Ann Kilby.
Henry lived with his nephew, Joseph Robbins and he also employed nine other men.

Ann Kilby had an illegitimate son, William (who took his mothers maiden name, Kilby) in 1865 and, in the 1881 England census, William appears (somewhat in 'disguise') living with his mother Ann (who has, by now married and become Ann Shepperd). William's birth place is shown as Deptford, Kent ... a fact that changes between census's due to him being illegitimate.

To get to the point (sorry) ... does anyone know of a possible father of William Kilby?, did you have a relative working for Mr Parry at that time, and know that they fathered an illegitimate child?, was the father Mr Parry himself - or his nephew Joseph Robbins?

I know this is a billion to one shot ... but it might be more of an 11/1 shot possibly (if the nine men employed by Henry Parry were known perhaps).

I only ask the question to solve a mystery (to me and my extended family) and not for legal causes, in any way shape or form.

Many thanks in advance of any answers.
