Cambridgeshire / John Reynolds
« on: Monday 14 April 08 06:20 BST (UK)  »
May I ask some body to look for a buriel of a John Reynolds in Newmarket between 1843 and 1851. His widowed wife was living in Newmarket in 1861 and was on the Saffon Walden common selling her wares in 1851. All their children were bapised at Christ Church Cambridge. The last child was born in 1843 so I am presuming that he died between 1843 and 1851. The family do not appear on the 1841 census for Cambridge. I have been looking for this buriel for years maybe another pair of eyes could help.
Thank you in anticipation

I have found a marriage for a John Pearce and a Hannah Pawson in 1800 at Ossington. It said he was of Sutton on Thames, but this doesn't mean he was born there I believe. I wondered if you could find his parents and possibly siblings for me. Their children were born in Carlton and Norwell. I hope this isnt a too large request
Thank you

I am looking for a John Pearce who married a Hannah Pawson in 1800 in Ossington Notts. I found their marriage on Ancestry and it said that John was of Sutton upon Trent he must have been born in the 1770/80. Their first son John was born in Carlton upon Trent in 1803
thank you

Hello I am also stuck with my Pilchers, Thomas married a Suzanna Gibbs at Dover in 1772. I do believe he was born in Canterbury as they had their first child there christened at St Dunstans. I have no other information on him. Sorry I cannot help you. It gets harder the more years you go back

Travelling People / Reynolds family

My Reynolds family were traders on fairs and markets. Listed on some of the certs as hawkers. I found my ggg grandmother at Saffon Walden Essex on the 1851 census selling her wares on the common at the time she was living at newmarket a widow. What I am trying to do is find her husband death John Reynolds. His last child was born in 1843 and he cannot be found on the 1841 census and as Ann was a widow in 1851 he must have died between these years. I wonder if anybody has a list of the markets and fairs around the cambridgeshire and suffolk and essex areas. or what would be good is his buriel
Thank you

Hi Sheila

I've sent you my e-mail address.

My GGM Matilda Starling married Charley Howe, son of William Howe of Kirtling and an Elizabeth (possibly Pledger).

It's possible that Lillian was my GGM's sister in law rather than her sister, and that my mum's recollections are a bit hazy.

Alan did I ever reply to your email, I cannot remember getting old you know
