Hi Maggsie,
Thanks for all your help! Yes they did leave Richard's surname off the marriage registration, which took me 30 yrs before I was able to find them in NZ.  Yes they were all Navy men I think, a history of Sir John Colpoys can be found on Wikipedia.. He never married. His sister Anne was Susan's mother.
After i found Richard's death here in NZ and meeting his descendants (via Rootschat) in NZ it lead me to find his parents John Colpoys Heaslop and Augusta Parkyns which has been a dead end until this week l I found George Heaslop and Susan Griffith on the internet on a family tree but I have no proof no connection yet that George and Susan are John Colpoys Heaslop's parents but I feel they could be..

Thanks so much for your help and info
Sandi

I really don't know! My Great Great Aunt Emily Married Richard Levett Gardiner Heaslop in Australia in 1869, He died in New Zealand in 1873 quite young. He was christened in Richmond, Surrey, England in 1846. His Father is John Colpoys Heaslop born in Waterford Clonmel, Ireland this might be a good clue, John was married in Winchester.  England and died in London.

I am trying to find out if Susan Griffith and George Heaslop are John Colpoys Heaslop's parents.

Hope this helps.

Hi
I'm not sure I am in the right County area but here goes.
I am searching for any info about Susan Griffith, her brother is Admiral Sir Edward Griffith (Colpoys).
Susan was born about 1773 she is supposedly married George Heaslop probably about 1792. I have no issue as yet. Her parents were Edward Griffith and Anne Colpoys. Susans grandfather may have been George Colpoys, High Sheriff of Clare 1644,
if the information I have collected is correct. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Just checked up my notes and William and Sarah's marriage certificate does not have her mothers name on it only her father.
The marriage Bann of John and Jane was in the same church that Sarah was christened at Stanton St Bernard, Alton Barnes.
It seems there must be two families (John and Jane and John and Ann) with a Sarah. Like I said I think I will have to do more research to determine which one is right.

Hi
Yes my siblings and my Mum (she is 95 and is a Bidgood, her father is Albert James Bidgood) went to the reunion. I was born in Toowoomba and lived there for 40 yrs. Visited a lot of cemeteries while I worked on the family tree out and around Toowoomba. My Mum and 2 brothers and a sister still live in Toowoomba.
I will do some more research as I want to be sure.  Did Anne have a son James?  Jane had a son James!  I have noticed back in those days names were carried on down the family line.  Sarah had a son James my grandfather's second name is James I have a cousin James, just a bit of trivia, lol.

Thanks for contacting me
Cheers

Just checked my research and John was born about 1800 so I think the marriage you have is too early for it to be the right John Jennings, my Sarah's father.  Yes I have seen the graves and I have a photo.  My cousin lived near there found the grave.
