This is a long shot.

I am looking for 2 members of my family.

1. Sarah Ramsay MacQueen (nee Kirkhope) last known address in 38/5 Toormina Place, Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia in 1980. She was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1907 and moved to live with her daughter sometime after 1963. (She divorced 1963). She has then disappeared. The names with her on the electoral role from 1980 could be family.

2. .....her granddaughter.....(removed). I have found Sarah's daughter Morag Ramsay Norton (nee McQueen). She was married to (removed). She lived in Robertson, Brisbane and died in 2004 in Brisbane. I cannot find anything on Pauline at all.

I have bought 2 birth certificates of a Sarah Kirkhope born in 1907. The thing is that they were registered in Shettleston, Lanark and in Old Kilpartick, Dunbarton with the same dates, addresses and parents.
I wonder why there were 2 certificates registered?
Can anyone help me please?

Hi,
I have a John McQueen born in Bridgeton, Glasgow in 1875 and a Janet Templeman Wallace born in Kings Lynn, Norfolk in 1879. Both were living in Glasgow in 1901. Then they were married in 1905 in Toronto, Canada. Their first child came in 1906 in Glasgow.

My question is why did they go to Canada to get married? or
Did they meet there and decide to go back to Glasgow?
As I cannot find any info on their departure (concrete evidence) I cannot work this out.
Has anyone any ideas what could have happened.

Midlothian / Marriage Search in Edinburgh?

I am trying to find a marriage between John McQueen and Margaret Rankin. They were both born in Edinburgh in 1814 and 1813 respectively. I presume they were married in Edinburgh because I think their first child was also born in Edinburgh. Margaret was born in 1833.
They then moved to Liverpool and had their second child John. They then appeared in the 1841 census in Barony, Glasgow.
I cannot find any record of their marriage. I have tried on ScotlandsPeople and elsewhere but with no success.
I wonder if someone can help me in the right direction.

Hi,
I am looking for a death of Ann McQueen nee McFarlane born in 1843. She was married to William McQueen in 1862 in Glasgow. Her parents were Alexander McFarlane and Ann Liddell.
I know she died between 1864 and 1869. (a daughter was born in 1864 and William remarried in 1869 as a widower).
I have looked on the Scotlandspeople site and have paid for a number of certificates but with no luck. I wonder if someone can help me please. I am doing something wrong or her death wasn't registered. I have tried different ways of spelling her name.

United States of America / Searching Jennie McQueen in Philadelphia.

Hi.
I am looking for a Jennie (Janet) McQueen born in Scotland 1847. She was married to Adam McQueen and lived in Philadelphia Ward 25 with her daughter Catherine Davies in 1900. According to the 1900 Census her name was spellt as Jenneitt McQuenn. She died in 1913 in Philadelphia on 217 Cuthbert Street. Adam died in 1907 in Philadelphia Ward 12 on 414 Olive.
The problem is that I cannot find her in the 1910 census. I have tried loads of different spellings etc, but no luck.
Can anyone help please?
