Renfrewshire / Help with finding a child death but don't have christian name!

Hi

Please could anyone help with finding the death of a child of a Thomas McCall and Isabella McCall (nee Scott).

I have so far found their children Thomas, Jeanie (1916-1919), Winifred, Robert and George.

A second family member has now mentioned vague details of one of their children who died. They had sat on the back of a bus and as it pulled away sharply they cracked their head very hard and died as a result.

I know that it definitely wasn't Thomas (b.1915), Winifred (b.1922), Robert or George (both b.1926) as all reached adulthood and I obtained the death certifcate of Jeanie and her death was as a result of enteritis.

The timeframe for this would have been from around 1915 to 1935 and thought I might find something on familysearch baptisms 1564 to 1950 but nothing seems to come up past late 1800's.

Would appreciate any help.

I know that Thomas and Jeanie were born in Eaglesham and the others in Glasgow.

The Common Room / Help to find daughter of Anthony Gilchrist McCall and Jean Chisholm Elliot-Scott

Hi

Please could anyone help to find the name/details of the birth of the daughter of the above two people.

I only know of her existence due to the obituary of Anthony Gilchrist McCall O.B.E from May 1978, which says he is survived by his widow and one daughter.

The tricky part is that they have lived in the UK, Germany, India and Rhodesia, before settling back in the UK...

I think this could be a lost cause but if anyone can crack it, its the fine Rootschat folk!

Armed Forces / Marriage Certificate info (WW2 Marriages)

Please could anyone confirm what would be entered under occupation, for weddings that took place during WW2.

Would it show their occupations before the war or their regiments that they were currently in?

I am hoping to find out what my grandfather was doing at the time of his wedding in June 1943, as on his service records he was discharged from the army in April 1940, being physically unfit with pnuemonia.

Scotland / Margarita McCall - Unable to trace beyond 1901 census

I would be very grateful if anyone could trace this relation of mine who I can only find on the 1901 census.

She was born around 1898 to parents Thomas McCall and Jane McCall (nee Boyle) in Glasgow.

This is not a common name and you would think would be easy to find, but no death or marriage certificate on Scotlands People.

I have looked but cannot seem to see anywhere that you can check records of emigrating scots, which seems the logical answer?

Renfrewshire / 1911 Census Lost Family

Hi

I have just wasted a stack load of credits on Scotlands People trying to pick my ancestors up on the 1911 census, not sure why as got lots of accurate perimeters entered on the search boxes.

The names are Thomas McCall (b.1856 Ayr) and either Jane, Jean or Jeanie his wife (nee Boyle).

I have reason to believe that they lived at 66 Prince Edward Street as I have got them there on the 1901 census and the address appears on one of their childrens marriage certificates dated 1914.

However just cannot seem to pick them up, which is proving costly and frustrating!

Any help would be much appreciated.
