Just to change the subject  folks, I went to Chelmsford Catherdral today for the chrism  service, always very nice, went by bus and it took me 2 3/4   hours, whilst there I sat next to an up and coming curate telling  her about what church I came from, after the service the woman in  front asked me was I talking about a  such and such a place, anyway to cut a long story short her forebears worshipped  at the church I attend,  she wanted to come back for a blessing for  her 50th anniversary this year, I spotted my priest and I said we should speak to him, I asked her what her surname was, would you believe  it was the same as my surname,  we were both astonished, but I knew the name as we have one of her family on a memorial, so I took her to meet my priest and they will be in touch, my 93 year old friend knew this family ,  I am going  to try to persuade her to come to our church to show her pictures of her family we have at the chuch, what a coincidence?

I am in  a real quandary, I need to buy a new carpet cleaner, so much to choose from,   thought I would  prefer a cordless but now I am not so sure now.
My trusty one isnt picking up very well, it is getting  on and I think it does happen ., good excuse  not to do any but I won't get away with it,

I think if there is a running subject the weeks diary lingers on but it really doesn't matter I suppose.

The Stay Safe Board / Diary summary week ending 31st March 2024

Good afternoon all.
This weekend the clocks change, hope I get it right to get to church on time , not like I did before and totally embarrassed  myself.

Strange day today, can't make up its mind to be dull or just a little brighter, I am finding it very cold.

Have been to the church to clean the brass  for Easter only to find everything has been stripped bare for Good Friday,  altar completely  bare down to the wooden frame.

Hope everyone is feeling brighter today.

My parents bred chickens,   we had some baby chick's,  my brother trod on one and my mum took it to the vets, he had injured its wing, this baby chick actually lived indoors running around, it eventually went back into the garden,  we had nicked named it Limpet, I never knew if it landed up on my plate and didn't want to know either,

This morning was very bright as was yesterday,   yesterday turned into a miserable day but today is sunny but very cold.

Our soil is clay,  years ago we bought something  to deal with it but it did no good at all,  I don't  mind using a good dollop of manure, remember  the days seeing someone following a horse with a bucket and spade?,,  well I am not sure my neighbours would appreciate it, dont get any here now, country smells as far as I am concerned.

Our priest has told us the bats are back,  think it might be due to the mild weather we had,  means we have to cover the chairs and pull up the runners in the pews,  an endless task dealing  with them as they are so messy.

Bumble, I like your Easter tree, you have been  busy.

Almost another week's diary due.

Enjoy your day everyone
